BOLD girl's playoff game in which they will bail out and be done: Saturday, 7pm.

Yep, won't be there.

Suck it up Willy. Do you really need to be at the whole meet on Saturday? Get there at 10, take your photos, be out by noon. Enjoy some red, gold, purple, whatever cups by 3 or 4.

If SJU had a video webcast, I'd have an out for tomorrow. Now I might actually have to drive the a hour and a half and sit by myself with my Hamline jersey on.

PI - I'm really not sure. I made my camera guy work until 10pm - it was running 2 hours behind schedule - at the team sections this past Saturday, so bailing out early might be a little sketchy on my part. I suppose I could call the guys Sunday for quotes on the winning guys...we'll see what I can get worked out, but it's not looking good. I mean, I have five teams that will be there and all have a kid who's likely to make it to state  >:(

Not shaping up to be a good week...tho I have gotten out of working tonight and Thursday night to watch the Gusties play (knock on wood).
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

fins- You riding the wagon over to the game on Tuesday?
MW- You know, all this bandwagon riding can really tire a guy out. And now that I've acheived enough FBM's (frequent bandwagon miles) to qualify for upgrades to business class, you'd think I wouldn't miss it. But I only have one week until the fishhouse has to come off and the game will be on the radio, so I think I'll tune it in out on the ice and listen to the dulcet tones of Mark Lewandoski describing the Johnnies pounding of the Pipsqueaks.
But the bandwagon will roll on!

It won't be the same without you. Sumander and Fins off the bandwagon. Theres gonna be alot of leftover Hamms in the back of the Smith wagon tomorrow!!

WW,

If only your job required you to go to the MIAC playoffs. I have to cover the Carleton women's game tonight, and then do double-duty Thursday between section boys hockey and the Carleton men's game. Like I said before, if it all works out, I'll be covering the UST/Carleton game, isn't life great? :P (It also helps that our wrestling team is awful and I only have one gymnast at state, but we'll make up for it at swimming)

It's a good thing the stuff doesn't spoil. But I'll try to have my share on the lake if the crappies aren't keeping me too busy.

SJU will not play in the title game.

Well Flip we know one thing is for sure in these playoffs....SMU won't be playing in the title game. I know i have made predictions but I now think that none of the 6 teams left should be counted out.

It seems like many of you believe that Bethel and Hamline have little to no shot tomorrow night to win on the road.  I don't know which way I want to go in terms of picking the winners just yet.

Here's some food for thought.  The Royals split with Gustavus this year, winning on the road.  The Johnnies beat Hamline twice and it sounds like that second and most recent game could have gone either way with St. John's almost blowing a huge lead in the second half.

I will make this semi-bold prediction.  I believe that one of the two lower seeds (Bethel or Hamline) will win tomorrow night.

Anyone else going to offer pre-game comments on either match-up?  Not much actual game chatter on this board lately.

On another note, for the second time in just over a month, Carleton freshman Zach Johnson was named MIAC player of the week.  Has that ever happened before?  ???

Bethel wins, Hamline loses.

It's close enough to tomorrow.

West Region Pool C assesment.

Below are the teams in the West region that may have a Pool C shot should they lose in their conference tournament.  Based on these numbers it appears that UST/Car have as good a shot at Pool C as anybody else in this group.  The strongest case against an MIAC Pool C is UST losing to Stout/LaCross and Carleton losing to LaCross.

Thanks for the info BG.  As I've said before, I hope I'm wrong & the MIAC lands two teams in the tourney.

By the way, I was told Andy Cook was on crutches & didn't play in the CARL-BET game on Saturday.  Was this a precautionary measure & the coaches were saving him for tonight's playoff game against GAC, or is he out for the season?

i think if CAR would make it to the championship game and lose they would have a good shot for the at large bid because of their current winning streak
