*Work with admissions & develop an ad campaign selling the idea of a vibrant, safe metro area of more than 160k population.

Or if you want to appeal to a different demographic, elaborate on the wild game and waterfowl hunting opportunities.

****Sum...if what you say is true, then the source of the weak recruiting has been discovered.  In a place as remote as CORD, the players will not fall in your lap.  If were in charge of recruiting, I would be on the heels of Mr. Horan.

Once again, hearsay, but that is how they landed Mr. Eckhoff

Actually, Keith Eckhoff chose Concordia because he was excited about the opportunity to play with Mark Dixon.  He then latched on to Dixon and hung on tight for four years.  Ask him.

As for Palmer's quote a few pages back:

"Article in this mornings Fool-Em on CORDS coach  Duane Siverson's   lack of success transitioning from the women's side to the men's side....

E-Z there big fella -  I never started this thread. I may have helped extend the conversation but it was Sumander who posted the article from the Forum, not I.

And, if you talk to this Dixon character, ask him why he chose the bright lights of F-M & not stay close to home & attend Bethel, UST etc.?  ;)

Guilty as charged. I would be interested to know if Eckhoff actually was recruited or if he fell into CORDS lap?

Dwyer isn't much of a scoring threat at PG because he doesn't have to be. Once Ike plays enough games, the Tommies will have three starters (Schnettler, Rosefelt and Keating) in the top-15 in the MIAC in scoring, including the leading scorer (Schnettler). Dwyer played probably his best game of the season to date at Carleton. His numbers weren't startling, but they were solid. He didn't have any turnovers, and seemingly all his shots that went in came at crucial times. If he can distribute the ball, not turn it over and get it to the scorers, that's what his role should be. The Tommies have been a little spoiled in recent years with the likes of Buri and Sweeney and their ability to score. I'm a bigger fan of the true point guard who leads, runs the offense and scores occasionally. If you're waiting for Dwyer to score 25 points in a game, you're going to wait a long time, because in watching them, that's not his role.

What impact, if any, do you think Abe would have had if he was still at UST and was the starting point guard?  I know chemistry and roles are important elements for any successful team, but Abe sure has some impressive stats.  In addition to leading the league in assists, he's shooting .545 from downtown and .549 overall with a 16.7 pts a game scoring average.  [One surprising statistic that I just noticed is that he doesn't rank in the top 15 in steals.]

Willy Wonka

Anyone have score updates for a guy stuck working in the office tonight? I'm bored for another 20 minutes, before I can turn on THE Ohio State game on my little 9 incher.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

SJU 74, Mac 68 final.  SJU too much depth down the stretch.  Big shots by Brink and Westman and forced threes by Mac led to Mac's demise
