Knights top St. Mary's 77-49, led by 18 at half thanks to a 7-0 Carleton run at the end of the half, capped by a Phillips trey at the buzzer.

The only thing worth looking at for St. Mary's tonight was the attractive student trainer at the end of the bench. SMU is a very mediocre basketball team, and that's putting it mildly. If they could find a way to defend the flex cut or switch off a screen, this game might have been closer. Carleton scored about 30 points on lay-ups tonight. Brensley Haywood and Dan Cormier are nothing to write home about. Not a single SMU player in double figures tonight. Haywood was taking some crazy shots, and Cormier was getting frustrated in the second half because they couldn't find a way to get him the ball. They looked like they were moving at half speed the whole night. I'm guessing the loss of Terrence Smith and the other couple of players have a lot to do with why this group is struggling, but they are hard to watch.

Tommy Drake has a bit of a coming out party. 22 pts (10-14 fg) and 11 boards. Johnson gets 19, Phillips 11 pts and 7 assists. Jeremy Sutherland also made some athletic plays and scored 10 pts, he'll start next year after Phillips graduates.

Sounds like the Tommies get a good win over the Gusties tonight.

SMU has really gone the wrong way! They looked to be a decent club when I saw them early in the year. They must real miss Smith and Washington.

Johnnies up 11. Ugly BB so far.

thats crazy SMU didnt have anyone in double figures....wish i could go to a game one day...only been to 1 this year...o well...i had to dominate tonight
