Which reminds me - who are the best dunkers in the league?  Obviously, Ike gets major props but that's a given.  Before his career is done, I still would like to see Ike dropstep & dunk on Craig Schafer with an And 1, & followed up with a block of Schafer's baby hook.  Just once, that's all I wanna see!

Drake...from most of your posts I thought u were just a fan of MIAC hoops, now I see the "darkside" coming out...why the hatred for C Schaf?

Now, now, now VOJ -  there's no "darkside" or hatred for Messrs. Craig & Scott Schafer.  However, you know as well as I do those Nebraska tats do set them up for a bit of good natured criticism.  Nebraska – sheesh!

Also, in a ruling that I just received from the MIAC League Officials' office – there was "No harm, no foul/hatred post" intended in my earlier post.  ;) ;D

Fins, howz your parralel parking skills?

Mine are fine, just pull up to the spot and put it in "S" for "sideways".
But, alas, the bandwagon will be in the capable hands of Sumander who, no doubt, will be doing victory laps up and down Summit Avenue on Saturday night.

Fins, You enjoy yourself down in Cabo. Rest assured once the J's complete the second basketball beat down of the T's The band wagon will probably take a victory tour of St. Paul!

We need to take care of business on Wednesday night first when Hambone makes the trek to C-ville. VOJ hit the nail on the head. This always seems to be a tough match up for the Johnnies.

Hopefully, we have the air pressure right in the monster tires and we start a 10 day run of our best basketball!

Drake...there is a darkside...it resides in St. Paul along Summit and resonates only as far as SJU permits...hopefully comes Saturday it will be extinguished

Just kidding...its a great rivalry...hope its a game as good as round 1 in Collegeville...

You must have had Bakko make the call on your slam of the Schaffers....

PI or someone else in the Piper camp (Local?). Thrasher got 16 minutes, had 5 fouls and 4 points on Saturday. What is the status of his ankle? It certainly looks like it had an effect on his game Saturday.

Fins ~ Make sure you check out the Love Shack in Cabo for sweet drink specials early in the night, $1 beers, not to mention a little Cabo Wabo later in the evening.

Lbow- I see you are wise to the ways of Cabo. Yes, the Love Shack is the insiders spot for the beer specials, plus a super-tasty bloody mary to get your eyes open.

I posted this on the football page too, so I apologize for those of you that double dip.

An interesting article in the NY times today about the pressures in DIII to potentially create a DIV. No mention of the MIAC, but interesting read.

This topic may be dying but I want to add some numbers to the discussion...

I think it is inaccurate (an unfair, but fairness is subjective here) to label Meadowcroft as a dissappointment or having a "down" year.

His scoring has decreased by just over 2 points per game.  But I think MIACFan55 hit it on the head that his scoring has decreased slightly due to to increased scoring from teammates.  Madsen and Moberg combine to score 10 more ppg than the 2nd and 3rd leading scorers from BU last season.  Charles does not need to carry the load this year.  Which is why he is taking slightly fewer shots per game than he did a year ago.

More importantly while his scoring has dipped everything else has increased.  Last year he grabbed only 4.9 reb/game and this year that has increased to 7.5.  His assists are also up slightly.  And his block shots are about the same with games yet to increase those numbers.

Beyond individual stats I think there is a lot to be said about BU as a team this year.  Last year's best player drops his scoring average by 2 points and the team scores 10 more per game, will be a solid 3rd place MIAC team and may end up with 20 wins.

I think saying Wittwer is a disappointment is entirely accurate as he was expected to be the team's leader and best player.  He is incredibly talented but has lead his team to inconsistency and disappointment.

I don't know how long it has been posted but up in the news banner on top of the site I see a site for d3baseball.  Makes me wonder what the plans are for other d3 sites?

Other than basketball what are some of the miac posters favorite sports at the d3 or at the MIAC levels.

I have always been a fan of volleyball at the both d3 and miac level
football is fun in the miac, but it is hard for me to follow it nationally
d3 hockey on the other hand gets more interesting for me at national tournament time
i think softball and baseball are more of a national picture as well.

News flash from Shooter's column today:

) The St. John's at St. Thomas regular-season finale at 3 p.m. Saturday could decide the MIAC men's basketball championship

I would love to see a Hockey page but on the national scene I suppose it is not as big.

Saturdays SJU/UST game seem like it will be a lot of fun, I think I will dip out of the BU/AUG game a little early in order to take it in.

Snowman,

Who cares about any other sport in the MIAC besides basketball.  The MIAC is one of the best div III conferences in the USA and is always filled with parity and good defense.

Here is a (DOUBLE who cares) for any women sport in the MIAC or in the world for that matter.  I'd maybe even rather watch "From Justin to Kelly" instead of girls trying to play sports (especially basketball).

Boondock Saints...

I disagree, the MIAC is a football conference thanks in large part to Gags and SJU.  Basketball is big but no powerhouse.  Same with hockey, especially this year as our conference is way down, at least compared to the Wisconsin schools

You may need to get there at noon to get a seat for the varsity game. Its goint to be a packed house I imagine. ;D

You are probably right...do they quit selling tickets at a certain point?  I may just have to skip the BU game
