Cobbernation,

Griess wears that Hawaiian shirt once or twice a year.  He pays homage to his times on the island.  The guy is a very respected coach in the NCAA with big victories over big teams like Villanova for example.  He was the youngest NCAA head coach ever I believe.  He also was the AD of Chaminade University and hosted the best preseason tournament, the Maui Classic.  His first year with the Auggies they had 4 wins but after one year of his recruiting they have 9.  Will they make the playoffs next year??  I guess we will see.  If he keeps bringing in guys like Soloja, Cassens, and Krumweide the future should be bright.

(his temper is fun to watch sometimes though :))

Ahhh, gameday...by sundown the regular season trash talking will be done and the MIAC First Round prep can begin in earnest.

Now the only question to be answered is which fans might hear the old, "Pride cometh before the fall" message on Sunday morning.  U Pick Em.

Is is March Madness yet?

Anyone gonna be listening to the SJU/UST game today that can provide updates for me on here? I'd appreciate it.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I'm officially ready for all the retarded banter about the Johnnie Bandwagon to stop amongst Sumander, MIACwatch and fins. You're gonna need more WD-40 than there is in the world to keep from derailing today. The Tommies are going to play with passion, emotion and intensity, and I think they'll win by double digits. This group plays well in big games in front of big crowds, and if you can't get pumped up to play this game, you shouldn't be playing college basketball. Ike is going to dominate the Schafers, Keating is going to have his biggest game of the year and Schnettler will be a fun matchup with Lieser and Westman. I just wish I could be there to watch it. Webcast anyone?

Everyone loves playoff time and I'm excited that it is almost upon us. I took the last few days off from here to get my mind straight so I don't make any more stupid mistakes or assumptions. Anyway we're going to get an early taste of playoff atmosphere Saturday over at St. Thomas. It should be a good time and hopefully an even better game. On too playoffs, I see Bethel and Carelton advancing on to Wed. I think Carleton will get the job done they made the tourney last year and I think they're itching to have another shot at St. Thomas. I think Gustavus will be looking forward to that game a little too much and I think Carelton will prevail. Even though GAC just beat St. Thomas at home, I'm picking Carelton in the upset. As for the other QF Bethel plays way to well at home and will be ready to play in front of the craziest student section in the conference. Be prepared for a white out in the Robertson Center on Monday. Yes we are talking about playoffs.

Yes they did, I had forgotten sorry Cmob that seems like ages ago for your Knights. Last year they had a young man named Dan Forkrud to carry them Zach Johnson hasn't done that this year. CAR is one and done this year.

i would state it as last year Dan Forkrud "FORK" led the team and was a great example of how a good player can make a team great by doing the little things....CAR sorely misses his screening ability and all the other little things that usually go unnoticed

UST wins, Johnnie fans go back up north and cry.

This Tommy seems geographically challenged. Or did they move Collegeville since I was there in November? ???  Go get 'em, Johnnies. 8)

Better yet, picking up internet at the game...huge UST student crowd, probably 5:1 over SJU.

SJU is winning the JV game 19-13.

Apparently not. KUST Live is playing some homo music when it says it should have a game on there...the announcers just apologized for the feed not being available yet. And the SJU site is charging a redic $10 to listen.

Oh, and GAC just completed its regular season collapse with a 71-65 loss at Carleton. That's gonna KILL the Tommies in the BCS standings :p

Tommies up 38-29 at half, Smith got T'd up for some reason with 1 second left, giving UST two free points.

Halftime notes from Saint Thomas:

UST leads 38-29

The SJU fans are up in arms about the officiating although since they are losing I wouldn't expect anything less from them  :'(

Ike asked to be taken out of the game a few times   :-[

Schnett is 1-5 on 3's with a few TO's and has been getting very frustrated  >:(

The UST students section attempted once to mimic BU's 3rd down defense chant, suprisingly SJU didn't hit a three  :)

That call was very odd.  The officials had called the half over but SJU insisted they add time to the clock.  In the end they added .6 and gave SJU a tech.

I'm listening for free. I just used the link on our Scoreboard page.
