I was happy that I didn't hear the "Let's Play Football" chant as well, but I was equally as disappointed that I heard the "Season's Over" chant with about a minute remaining. If those students did any homework after Wednesday at all, they would've known that both UST and SJU were locks for the tourney regardless of who won Saturday, so neither team's season is over.

That's interesting that Bethel created the "Defense" and jump chant because I saw it plenty in the fall at a majority of St. Olaf football games. Although it is borrowed, it was pretty sweet to see virtually every student in the place bouncing and chanting. I wish it was like that when I was an undergrad, that way I woudn't have been the only fan who looked foolish when I acted like I cared that there was a game going on in front of me.

Shooting slumps happen with every guard in basketball, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Lieser and Westman bounce back, but it might not matter depending on who they face in the first round. The thing that got me was when Lieser knew his shot wasn't falling, instead of putting the ball on the floor in the second half, he tries to shoot from farther away and misses worse. Go to the hoop and create for yourself, because once a shot falls and you get some confidence, that basket gets huge.

Ike did get pushed around a little, and I would like to see him play a little more physical against big bruising posts like Fogt, but he's a more crafty player that's still strong. I remember guarding him in a workout before his first season at UST, and it wasn't a fun matchup. He's strong, crafty with his moves and has a ridiculous wing span. I also like that he extends to 15 feet and can hit the J, adds another dimension to an already tough UST offense.

Definitely would like to see the Tommies host a regional, they deserve it. I'm sure they'd like a rematch with LaCrosse too. If they have Ike for that game earlier this season they probably win by 10-15. The website says the bids are announced at 6 p.m. our time, so I would imagine the brackets should be out tonight.

As for the smiting of Tommie posters, I can say I haven't smited anyone in quite some time so if your loss of karma is keeping you awake at night I'm sorry but I'm not the culprit you are after.

Ha!  I'll give you that the cheer might have originated in the Lake conference, but I seem to recall Bloomington Jefferson doing this first.  ;)  Those were great rivalries back 3-5 years ago between Jefferson, Rosemount, Eden Prairie, & then a year or so later with Chaska & Burnsville.  I also recall seeing all those Rosemount "Marxhausen is God" signs back then.   Fun rivalries!

There is no way that two snowflakes can't be exactly alike. I was really struggling with how to say this. The whole double negative thing got pretty tricky. But seriously, how can someone know? ???

VOJ--

And I almost said congrats to SJU fans for not dropping the all too easy "Let's Play Football" chant and you go and bring up MACs football situation on a hoops message board.

Nice work.  Oh and because my team didn't make the playoffs I don't get an opinion.  Ok.  Ha.

Whose, not who's.  I'm sure you were so filled with anger with my post you didn't take the time to proofread yours.  No worries.

oAs.

oAs...as I explained earlier my ire was with the Bethel 5 joining in so that we could give the toms a game...with the exception of your football career have you always been a front runner?  I imagine so...no worries I know where you stand

Can we get an email check on VOJ. He's starting to sound like Sofa King.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

VOJ,

Lighten up dude.  OAS is one of the good guys.  He can take it as well as he dishes it out.  No need to get personal.

How could a guy who picks Bethel over SJU in football something like 5 of the last 6 years ever be considered a front runner?  ::)

Willy,

How much did you pay Maniac to defend your honor?   ;D ;)

oas.
the bethel  starting five line was the best, most insightful, "heads up," meaningful post on this board in three days!   keep up the good work.
and drake, you have been days now without a pictorial comparison for a miac personna.   keep coming up with the stuff, man.

ROR...ok, if you say he is ok, fine...I just got sick of all the shots on the J's, yea they played terrible and the Toms played great...

J's are in...they are dancing...we will just have see how long they are on the floor

Looks like they were the only team from the west region to get a pool C bid, strange...I thought a UW team would have also made the field.

TommieHoops4Life

Johnnies get an at-large in Pool B. Sounds like LaCrosse gets snubbed.
