the job that i heard he has applied for is in the western suburbs and is not known as a powerhouse.  they did, however, feature a very good player this year. apparently they have a teaching job to go along with the coaching job for mr. wohler.  not sure why he would leave hamline.

good catch on Ruud, Drake.  i thought about including him.  he is a friend and maybe the most capable future pastor that i've met at sem.  he also throws high heat if fools crowd his plate. step back, fools.

NCA – Orono? That's reasonably close to Wohler's' old stomping grounds of Bird Island.

CON - Probably the closest physical resemblance would be BVT, but all 3 players you mentioned are far more physical than Halvorsen.

Also, is it true Josh Downey is now an assistant coach at Whitworth College?  And what happened to Passanante & Soren Nelson?

I don't know about downey.  It sounds reasonable.

Pase got married and is living in the TC metro area, i believe.  His wife is none other than national free-throw record holder Jamie Visness from the Cobbs.

Soren has been working as an assistant to the athletic director at Duke and pursuing a master's in some area of education or administration, i think.  I believe he gets to run with the Dukies every once in a while during open gyms and such.

NCA - as the worm turns, I just checked the MSHSL site & Orono does indeed have a head basketball coaching vacancy.  Where's Wonka or PI when you need them? Or as far as this is concerned, Papahoops, WerFans, Local?

Cmob - I see that Rosemount & Lakeville South's head coaching positions are still unfilled.

Tanks for the updates CON.

has anyone been in a gym and seen what teams are doing together in the summer?

i know a big disadvantage for concordia was that it couldn't keep it's team together for summer workouts since kids are spread from the metro area through montana.  UST used to play together in their gym at least a few times a week, i think that helps.

What are other teams doing?

good detective work, drake.  now we'll see if it plays out as i've heard or not.  st. thomas has a very nice class, with halvorsen, nicolai, david holcomb, alex healy and a couple of wisconsin kids.

If we find out nothing on Wohler by June 30, I'll try to get a little info out of the head honcho at Hamline as we will be enjoying cocktails together out here in Hutch.

My hunch is that if Wohler did leave, it would be because things haven't worked out as planned. He had a nice year last year, but this past season was embarrassing and I'm not sure it will be any better next season.

Jon Leuer was a senior this year, right?

A little tidbit on the Orono job from Shooter:
Matt Arnold has resigned after one year as boys basketball coach at Orono to go into private business.

Rosemount has been shot down by 4 coaches they have offerred the job to now and word is the south of the river summer league they run is in shambles...as for our favorite school in the world lakeville south....they made a hard push for the rosemount staff to come over there...although it would have been the assistant coach (McCormik) for rosemount taking the job with the former head coach bender being his assistant.  McCormik turned down the offer and took a head coaching job in wisconsin and Bender took the top assistant coach spot at Burnsville...Lakeville South hired a former sophomore coach who i believe was fired from Lakeville North...The hire has sent lake conf. coaches into celebration from what i heard because from what i hear he is not a very good coach....word is rosemount may have to re-open interviews for the position because they just offered the job to their last option...it doesnt thrill me to much to hear they even offered the job to their last choice but they are trying to save face after firing someone that should have never been fired...if he accepts the job they will play it off like he was their number one choice all along when he was far from it
