Cobbs win after being down much of the game.  Johnnies had last major lead at 57-52 with 7 minutes left in the 2nd half.  Combo of cold shooting/ tough Cobb defense.  Last tie was at 60 apiece.

Final: Cobbs 71 - SJU 64.

Leiser with 20
Ohme 14

Linz with 20
Eckhoff 19
Mad Dog Dixon hits 9 in 2nd half with clutch FTs.

Linz beat tough he Johnnies up inside tonight. Though to defend that guy inside. Johnnies took to many jumpers and didnt put it inside enough. Cobbers owned the paint good win for them.

UST 80 CARL 67 Final

Ike with a number of "flushes" & double-double according to the Carleton announcer.  Fun announcer to listen to.  :D

Oles beat Auggies (I'm not sure of the final but both men & women STO teams win)

gusties beat the auggies tonite something along the lines of 70-52.

Drake Palmer

Gusties only up 28-27 at the half over Hamline but win going away in the 2nd half 70-52.

I'm sure somene else will fill in the rest of the details, but here are a few negative highlights I heard: 38 combined TOs, 31 fouls called.

MIACWatchmen is putting that quality Johnnie education to work.

Johnnies looked good tonight even with the loss. Linz ate them up in the second half inside and they settled for too many jumpers. I would be very surprised if they didn't make the playoffs. They should legitimatly be in every game this year with the significant upgrade in talent from last year. Lieser is the real deal. A nice, smooth point guard who plays in rhythm. He can't play 38 minutes every night though and expect to hold up all year. Although I can't really blame Smith for wanting to play him that many minutes. On a side note, being that he is a DI transfer can we expect him to "dominate" the same way everyone expects Ike to dominate since he is a DI transfer as well. Is NDSU to SJU the same as Bowling Green to UST or am I way off base. Just wanted to throw that out there.

WW- how in the world could I be a constant first round pick? I mean, second round, sure, but first? I'm almost offended, until I remember the truth. Surely I got in more than some of the other guys who sat on the end of the bench. Damn the ACL injury that took away my athleticism.  :P
(Reporter interviewing Charles Barkley after and altercation where he threw a fan out of a bar window)

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

Highlight of the Gustie game tonight:

Wittwer gets the ball on a fast break with a clear path to the basket and Andrew Olson ahead of him. He takes two hard steps toward the basket to finish it himself, and then realizes what  Hanson would do if he doesn't pass it ahead. So, he passes it, Olson fakes out the only Hamline defender, and passes back to Wittwer for a
dunk anyway.

Gustavus didn't have any more fouls than normal. They played their usual style of defense and were whistled for the fouls they usually commit. Hamline was playing incredibly aggressive and physical defense. It succeeded to some extent in disrupting the Gustie offense, though the Gustie players maintained their composure. So, the fouls piled up for Hamline, allowing GAC points from the free throw line.

iowa_transplant:

Gusties beat the Hamline Pipers, not Augsburg Auggies. I can't blame you, though. It's not easy to distinguish between two mediocore teams in maroon uniforms.

Willy Wonka

Mac pounds Bethel tonight with two starters in street clothes? Scheduling cream puffs was a joke last season, but maybe it was necessary this year.

Olaf destroy Auggies? I can't wait for funbb's comments on this one.

If you told Carleton they'd shoot just under 50% and commit just seven turnovers before the game, I think they'd be confident in their chances. Instead they lose by 13. Tommies look like the real deal after one conference game.

Cobbers get a tough road win at SJU. Where's Westman? Did he transfer from under our noses or is he hurt? If he plays, he doesn't go 1-7 in 26 minutes and CC probably doesn't get that win. Still, it's a great road win to the conference slate for CC.

Gusties sneak away from Pipers - No box up yet, so it's hard to say what exactly happened. I turned off the radio after hearing DeRock was 2-10 and to listen to Killingsworth going crazy :)

St Mary's with a respectable performance against a good Winona State club.

Shaping up for another good year :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.
