I did a little googling last night & stumbled upon a couple of items.  While still my favorite newcomer's name --Mac's Colin Keeley, unfortunately, I don't think he'll be the inside force that the Scots desperately need this year.  But I think Macalester might have mined another explosive Colorado golden nugget in another FY -Trey Mullen. Check it Out

This kid might be the real deal & as thin as the Scots' depth is along the front line, I would bet he gets considerable playing time this season.   He sounds like a taller & dare I say, more athletic version of the dearly departed "Warren Sapp" at SMU.

Drake, Nice find. I'm probably picking nits here but, this quote from the article strikes me as a little odd "As far as basketball, there were better options," Mullen said. "But Macalester is one of the top 10 medical schools."

I know UST just nixed the idea of a new medical school, when did MAC open it's school of medicine? ???

For being a "humble kid" according to his coach, I though several of his quotes were odd, or might have been taken out of context.  I'm thinking he was just referring to the top notch "Ivy League like education" he'll receive at Macalester & will prepare him for med school.  ;D

Cmob, is that a plea for Ralph lll to save Tubby's program? Sounds like they will be awfully thin this year.

If Tubby can lead his rodents to at least one victory this year it will be a succes considering the football program suffered a crippling defeat last weekend and should end the year with just ONE win!!

If I recall, Zev Kujolic's dunk that I saw last season was over the golden Gusties. In fact, I came across some rare archived footage of the shot-- The Dunk :o ;D

Have a good weekend everyone!

What Scrimmages are coming up in the next couple of weeks? I have heard of two so far.

Nice google find on Trey Mullen,  Drake :). He is an undersized post player, but at 6'3" could still evolve into a rebounding force in the MIAC for MAC(ie. Jesse Hollander). My guess is you also googled your favorite incoming player name Colin Keeley, but don't be disappointed by his lack of production last year. He was essentially injured his entire senior HS season. Have heard he has very good shooting touch for his size, and could  give MAC some decent front court scoring depth off the bench.

SJU usually scrimmages Northwestern around this time of the year.  Not sure if its on their schedule this year but its always a possiblity.

Gotta run to a meeting, but the Dawgs have put their roster up & it seems they got their man - the Shooter from Ellsworth, plus a couple of other nice surprises.  Their roster looks a lot like what I think Coach Whitmore at Hamline would want. Auggies' roster

Van doer Stoep can PLAY!! That Ellsworth team has been pretty darn solid the last couple years. I'm guessing he'll step in right away and contribute for the Auggie.  Also another suprise, Cassens is one of three team captains! He's only a sophmore is he going to be able to carry and lead his team like a captain should?

I saw Augsburg play 5 times this summer, and even though it is summer league ball Cassens seemed to be the leader on the floor...it seemed like he took command himself and others looked to him...also, watch out for Darren Nelson, at 6'5" he is super athletic and has worked on his stroke...I saw him put up 20 a couple times...

Watch- I totally agree with you the Whitmore would love to have a team that is as athletic as the the Auggies...don't be surprised though if 2-3 years from now Hamline's roster is loaded with kids who are all 6'2"-6'4" and can shoot

Cassens has heart. I've watched him play through high school and he is consistent. He also looked good this summer in league play. That was a nice pick up from Ellsworth too. I bet there will be a lot more surprises to come as rosters are posted.
