statement of the year:

The upper tier of the MIAC is not head and shoulders above the lower tier of the UMAC.

That's garbage.  Take the top three teams in the MIAC once the first half of the conference slate determines those positions with more legitimacy and pit them against the bottom three teams in the UMAC.  Now, define "head and shoulders above" as the condition of winning 80% of the contests.

There is no way that the top 3 miac teams wouldn't win 8, 9, or all 10 games out of 10 versus the last 3 teams of the UMAC.  The top three teams of the MIAC should expect to win at least 7 out of 10 versus the bottom three of their own league.
Is Macalester really head and shoulders above crown and presentation?  It's a little hard to tell at this point what the lower tier UMAC teams are going to be.  If we're going off of last season, Morris is lower tier and they haven't played Carleton, UST or Macalester but we do know they're dangerous against Bethel and Concordia, and St. John's can't exactly overlook their upcoming rematch.

But you're right, Crown and Northland would not be picked by me to win 3 of 10 games from UST, but crazier things have happened.

----still can't get the hamline-scholastica webcast to work--sounds like a heck of game up at the kennel tonight

Link just died on me.  My theory is that they only allotted "X" of minutes for the broadcast & they'd reached their time limit.  Nuts!

The game should be over by now.

hopefully scholastica puts up the box score tonight--they've been bad about that before.
