hopefully scholastica puts up the box score tonight--they've been bad about that before.

ditto, the same with the Pipers.  And what's up with the antiquated UMAC website??

As tough as Clute's been at the FT line, I would think the Pipes might have eked this one out.  I think the Pipes were down 15 points at the half.

I believe the UMAC is getting a new website-as well as a new commissioner.

yeah, we're safe to assume Hamline got the W

as good as some of the FY's have been for Hamline and all the pub they're getting, let's not forget Tony Thrasher...a couple huge baskets for the Pipers down the stretch tonight and has continued his solid career by quietly putting together another all-conference quality year at almost 16 points and 4 boards a game, plus he provides the leadership this infant team needs to succeed as the season barrels its way into January...

Chalk one up for the good guys - an unconfirmed source told me that the Pipes won either 76-69 or 74-69.   ;)

good guys?  scholastica's not the big city power stealing coaches from national powers and having the best championship history and nba players to their credit.  Scholastica is barely co-ed--(basically, if you're male at css, you're on the team).  ;D

Big City Power?!?  Hamline has like one playoff appearance in the last 30 billion years.

Besides, CSS has got the brand new fieldhouse & the ratio must be like 4 females to 1 male.  And, who just sent a player to the CBA?  How's Cmob's home boy Billy Maupins doing anyway?

all the things you've just said are true, but that doesn't mean they should win when thrasher shoots 4-18

Wow,  both teams shoot less than 40% from the field. Pipes 37% FGA & 18% from 3-pt line.  CSS 35% FGA & 37% 3pt FGA.  Fortunately, Yazz Ice was a slick 12-12 from the FT line.

I thought I would add a note about Tyler Nicolai who is doing so well at St. Thomas.

This evening I covered the Hopkins vs. Cooper high school game and I talked the Ken Novak Jr. who was Tyler's high school coach. We talked about how well Tyler is doing and Coach Novak told me that Tyler had had some serious DI looks.

He also noted the Tyler is getting taller and putting on weight and that with that increased weight and height that he is just going to get better and better as a player.

Tyler wanted to stay and play ball near home and that's turned out well for him and his family and lots of fans too.

"Stealing coaches"? ???

And I can't think of a better recruiting tool for a men's basketball coach to have than to be able to tell a prospect that the female:male ratio at the coach's school is 69:31. If I were a 17-year-old male, I'd have visions of the school being like the Castle Anthrax, only with a cupola instead of a grail-shaped beacon. :D

Drake - I'm in no way trying to steer the convo back to GAC. However, I'd much rather debate where Ike falls in the recent MIAC Pantheon, for example, than the merits (or demerits) of a non-starter on a winless team who appears to be a headcase.

Comprende? :)

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.
