I was just talking about tonight's Watertown-Mayer/Hutchinson matchup, since I work in Hutch and Prophet is a W-M grad.

Hutch 77, W-M something less

Kujo and Mike Kaiser are off the roster, and a guy that doesn't even have a profile link is starting????

How about this?

Great, now at 3:55 and 5:10 I'll get an update stating my team is losing Saturday. Wait, who do we play? SJU, oh yeah, I know my five-pointer.

I need some positivity...just a win Hamline.

BTW, the Gophs are one shooter short of a NCAA bid. Up 56-52 and they had three chances to extend lead - nothing. Or how about 15 seconds on shot clok, post timeout and Nolen dribbles around and than takes buzzer-beater shot. Or, Spencer 0-7 from FT after going 5-5 against Penn State.

Feel free to put all the blame for the Gophers tonight on Spencer Tollackson! Your boy from Chaska goes 0-7 from the free-throw line in a 65-60 loss, and not one of the shots had any chance!!!!! Oh yeah, and McKenzie misses a wide open 3 late to tie the game. He's made a lot of much tougher shots in his career in big situations than the one he missed tonight.

Regardless, the Gophs are for real! Great game tonight at the Barn. This group hasn't quite figured out how to win close games like tonight, but I absolutely love the effort. Tubby! Tubby! It's great to be excited about Gopher basketball again even after an agonizing loss. I hate the Big Ten Network.

Who's boy? I thought you 6-10ers stuck together TH4L?

Sparticus-dttyd

My bad, I thought you were talking Schmidt vs. Anderson. Yeah Watertown isn't very good this year. They lost all five starters and there top scorer was out.

cardinals are aweful, perhaps a change is needed, perhaps one of the coaching staff.  bright spots for SMU though in last nights defeat, Wright 23 points, Carr 6 steals

Tough loss last night, but man... 19 posts later & now you're giving up on the Birds??  Hmph.

no im not giving up on them that was just some frustration coming out i still believe everything i have said about them, i think they are finall starting to get a handle on their rotation with rohr sitting out all of the 2nd half and carr playing 20+ minutes, they just need to pull everything together

columbianmaffia

big spence goin 0-7 is weak sauce

so do you think he is still laughing about his airball in the state championship game?

TH4L you are right it was free throw shooting, but also you need to score more than 16 points off 26 turnovers...you need a minimum of 30...that would be scoring a hoop off 1/2 of the Hoosier TO's instead of 33%...give Tubby credit, they are headed in the right direction

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Story from the Fool-Em about CORD Frosh Eric Lien .

What do you think...game of the weekend at Collegeville where the 4-4 Pipers are playing the 5-3 Johnnies or is it the struggling Scots 3-5 at home against the 5-3 Knights?

Sum...good question possibly with no answer...Scots really need that game to stay in the chase, while the Johnnies want to keep positive mo on their side and can't afford to look ahead to the Tommies on BIG MONDAY...both should be hard fought games, is Clute going to be back?  PI do you know?

big_shocker

WW- It is confirmed for Monday. Probably won't make it for the women's game, but should be there for the men's game.

Gophers looked pretty good. Hoosiers did not. Maybe it was because the Gophs played tough enough defense, or maybe IU was just off, but it was a great game.

Yeah, Spence couldn't hit a free throw, but he played pretty tough inside against DJ White. I never really thought Coleman was very tough, but he was fantastic last night, really charging for every ball and not giving in. He really impressed me. Guards were okay. It was a tough loss, but this would be a game last year they would have had no chance in. And just think, the three leading scorers were still on the team last year. These Gophers come to play every night this season, and they can only get better.

And it was fun to finally see them on TV.
(Reporter interviewing Charles Barkley after and altercation where he threw a fan out of a bar window)

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

Heartbreak at the barn last night!!!! It was rockin though.   The fans were as loud as I've ever heard them there and people were on their feet quite a bit during the game.  It was an awesome game to be at except for the fact that Spencer blows at the line.  That was a statement game that could make a difference when bubble time rolls around.  Too bad they couldn't pull it out.

Anyways it was awesome seeing Sampson and Tubby on the sideline with their crazy antics going back and forth.  A few possessions I'm pretty sure Sampson was their 6th man.

The UST/Concordia game on Wednesday night was terrible.  All that matters is a win for UST but just an overall awful game.  Linz has got nobody on his team to help him out and you can tell he has to try to force things just to keep them in the game.

Play of the night:  Linz at the top of the key trying to shake past Al, Al rips him and goes coast to coast for an and 1 layup.  Linz looks at the ref in disbelief and big Al pumps his chest and gets the crowd alive.  Too bad that was the most exciting play of the night.

One reason the Tommies are better than everyone expects this year: They don't have any stars on the team.  It could be a different person every night and that's why they have been successful.  Plus it doesn't hurt that they are going more than 7 or 8 deep.

Big Al is deceptively quick! How many time do you suppose he has done this to opposing posts? It would be sweet if the big guy could finish them with a dunk.

LBOW- I have seen Big Al make this very same play more than once !! Actually several times  ;D  The best part of his game may be his amazing ability to use his body to increase his advantage. He knows how to use it and its very hard to defend or rebound against.
