Word on the streets is Clute is 75/25 for Saturday. I think they call that questionable. (Yes, I just made that up)

If the leg is fine, its been more than a week since the concussion, so he should play. The Pipes need him bad.

By the NFLs definition Clute would be probable. Questionable would be 50/50, and doubtful is 25/75.

Piper to answer your first question, no I am not, and the second, I think it was hoeft. Also the last two years they made it to the section finals and subsection championship respectively and looking at there roster, only hoeft saw any action last year.

If Al lost 30 pounds he wouldn't be half as good.  That kid has got the quickest hands in the MIAC.  I know he's stripped me after getting a rebound more than once.

Hoeft didn't play, you are correct sir. You don't have to look any farther than Northeastern to see the kind of talent coming out of that school.

Younger posters – here's a little advice from me.  If & when you reach a mid/senior management position, don't EVER schedule a workshop in the dead of winter on a Friday in Mpls –St. Paul!  Are they crazy??  And so ends my rant for the day. ;D

Misc.

It seems if your last name begins with a W, and coach men's basketball in the MIAC -- you must try to play up-tempo, run a trapping, pressing type D and roll the Ws for revolving door syndrome on the team roster.  Although in fairness to Hamline's Nelson "CEO" Whitmore, it's tough to come in 2 weeks before the school year begins and stamp his personality and playing style on the team.  It's still too bad about the loss of both Mike Kaiser & Zev Kujolic, my personal favorite being Baron Zev.  Dunk on my man!  The Pipes also lost another kid from California who never played – Will Winter.

I hate to say this, but unless Jerry Kraus or Colin Keeley really step it up over at MAC during the remainder of the season, I think we may seen the Scots' season swan song when they beat UST & Northwestern back in December. They'll probably knock somebody off they shouldn't have any business of beating, but  I think it'll be the last gasps of a team starting to run out of ammo.  Back in December the Scots were really starting to gel & my All FY Name kid – Trey Mullen was doing a real nice job in the interior & taking some of the defensive & rebounding pressure off Tom Conboy & Jerry Kraus.  Sadly, Mullen withdraws at the semester & maybe not coincidentally, Mac's fortunes start to change. The other All FY name player, Colin Keeley stepped it up huge for the one game against NW & then fades back to anonymity.  Jerry Kraus, the other Mac post really played well during the first 7-8 games of the season.  He showed great effort, passing & hustle, but since the holiday break he's been a blip on the screen.

I heard Tyler Nicolai at UST got banged up & had some type of leg injury, or ankle sprain early in the 2nd half of the game against Cord the other night.  Anybody have any idea how serious the injury is?  I think the Tommies can absorb the temporary loss of Nicolai a little better than the Pipes can handle the loss of Erik Clute, however, both players seem to be critical to their team's success.

Kidding guys...didn't mean to kill the banter.

Would appreciate any updates you fellas can offer throughout the day. Working on Saturdays is great...

After talking to Kalland this week, Kuhl is not with Carleton anymore because of what sounded like a nagging back injury that just didn't get any better. I thought I saw him on the floor against Olaf, but I mistook him for Weischedel.

WW,

I feel your pain about working Saturdays. I hate True Team swimming.

One dollar Bob
STO/GAC could contend with SJU/HAM for game of the day. (Its gold vs. yellow(?) and red vs. maroon. . . as a matter of fact all the teams are matched up pretty well color wise except for BET and SMU.)

St. Olaf has been hot lately and I wouldn't be surprised if they took down (Whos) Gustavus. At the same time the Gusties have been playing some solid ball so it shapes up pretty well. On the other hand, Hamline is streaking in the wrong direction and its (probably) Clute's first game back since the knee injury. I'm gonna go with STO staying hot and SJU taking care of business.

CAR committed 24 TOs and sorely missed Rodney Kuhl who quit the team over break because of back problems. It will be interesting to see who fills in now that Sutherland will likely miss some time. FY Jason Weischedel handled the ball very well at the end of the game and could see more PT.
