I was digging around on the UST website & came up with these photos of Mose & his letter sweaters.  ;) ;D

fun-KNEE! altho I think the 3rd one from the left is actually Drake (L is for _ _ _ _ _ _)

Mose - you forgot an extra letter in (L is for _ _ _ _ _ _)

It should be L_ _ _ _ _ _ for D-liteful  :o  ;)

So how about those games tonight?  ;) If C-ville was closer I'd be tempted to drive up.  The Gusties- Johnnies round 3 should be a barnburner!  My guess, the younger "old master" - Coach Hanson finds a way to rally his troops & beat Sensei Smith at his own game.  An individual matchup I would love to see are the two fiery pgs - Burns from SJU & Schmidknecht from GAC.  Those 2 don't back down from anyone. Throw in Mike Delo for good measure & we should get an over/under on the # of Techs called in this game.   ;) Actually I think the game is going to be pretty clean & both coaches have warned their players to keep their tempers in check, or they'll be on the bench.  Where's Willy?

Down in Mpls the Dawgs & Knights go at it again.  After watching the Carlies guards successfully deal with the UST defensive pressure a few weeks ago, I was really surprised to see them struggle against Augsburg's guards last week.  Also, does anyone know why Carleton FY Kellen McLeMore didn't play the last game against Bethel?

DP, You missed this one of Mose

Jim Smith gets #700 tonight! ;)

Sum - as they say on Saturday Night Live Weekend Report with an arched eyebrow -
"Really?"  You're forecasting a Johnnie win?  Really?  Is that worth a mortgage bet, or just a mortgage payment, or a dinner bet at Mose's favorite Chinese restaurant?   :o ;)

The sun rose in the east, we have a tax bill to pay, Sum forcasts a Js victory and Drake picked against SJU...ah the certainties in life, hope my demise is not part the last part of the guarantees...Drake did you learn anything from the weekend ::) :o

Seriously it will be a great tilt...probably could go either way, but homecourt advantage also has to figure in there somewhere...two long bus trips in 48 hours might take a toll on the legs.

I hope you all cashed in on the free winner I posted on the board with SMU knocking off Augy...

Even though Augy got them by 16 just a week ago, I like Zorro and his band of merry band of knights tonight...Alm's late season foul troubles have me a little concerned, if he is sitting by Coach Greiss for more than 7 to 10 minutes because of fouls, it could be tough for the Auggies.

So anyone hear what Curt will be doing instead of coaching at MAC?  Might he be headed to the high school ranks?  Other than his job I don't really see any turnover at MIAC schools, but you never know...

Carleton FY Kellen McLeMore didn't play the last game against Bethel because he was out with the flu. Not sure of his status for tonight.

Thanks B. love & special Sauce.  I also noticed you mispelled McLemore's name like I did & capitialized the "M" in his name.  My bad it's McLemore.  Hopefully he's available & ready to play.  Could be a good ball game.

For those of us who are torn & still sitting on the fence, Carleton will offer live video coverage of the game tonight.

And the men behind the mike will be offering up their unique view of the game at C-ville.  ;D

Dude seriously,  I pick the Johnnies every weekend in football.  ;D

And besides, where's Fins, ROR & those other fairweather Johnnie basketball fans?

Sadly enough the bandwagon has been parked in Fin's garage since the 06/07 season.

Not willing to wager a mortgage payment on this bet. I would however,  put  burger and a beer on it at any of the fine St. Paul establishments previosuly mentioned on the board....The Tap, Nook, Shamrock's et. al.

You gave me a good chuckle there Drake...I am not sure where the bandwagon is right now...might have been winterized, or maybe they will all be in attendance tonight after a stop at the La...

Wish me luck gentlemen.  I'm about ready to cross over the threshold into D3 Sports rareified air- All American status & 2000 posts of nothing.  ;D   And as usual, despite what some ne'er-do-wells claim, I'm proudly repping the colors of all the MIAC schools & yes that includes SJU.   :-*

Thanks Blove.  It looked better with at least the football & basketball painting.  I wasn't real keen on the hockey thing. And thanks Mose & Sum! right back atcha  ;)

WW, a little disappointed in your recap of the BU-CAR, no mention of Johnson reaching the 2,000 point mark for his career. That's a huge accomplishment for anyone.

I agree, it is a big accomplishment. However, there was no mention of that on the Carleton web site when I updated my blog ASAP after the game. I suspected he'd reached that milestone, but felt more comfortable leaving it off than simply guessing. And I forgot to go update it afterward — there was no slight intended. I'll try to link TH4L's article about it. He should have plenty of time since his hockey team choked ;)

Drake reached a posting milestone a few days after someone else did? Naturally, I prefer understatement to his grandstanding :-*

Where have I been? At the doctor, per usual. Got good news though...there's a CHANCE Wonka will be in attendance for Saturday's finals. I've only missed one in the last nine years so this is definitely good news. The bad news? I will soon be returning to work, as well :(
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

papahoops

Thanks for posting all the links for game updates tonight Drake. Am planning to attend semi and finals on Weds/Saturday, but think I will check in via the web tonight when I'm not watching Jack Bauer save the world.

I am not making a prediction in the SJU/GAC contest. VOJ would fall over if I predicted a Johnnies win after some of my earlier season comments and I would doom GAC with a forecasted win for the Gusties, since SJU goes on a win streak every time I make a negative comment about them. I will give both teams a chance and stay away from that one. I'm sure Mose will be cheering hard for the Johnnies though :)

Augsburg/Carleton should also be interesting despite the results of their last game. I lean toward Augsburg at home, but have a feeling that Zorro could really come up big in this one. He will definitely have his game face on tonight ;)

MiacLostProphet

Guess who's back, back again, Prophets back, tell a friend

Carlies win a close one, Johnson goes off and Rosset follows.

I would go with SJU since ohme and myself share the same insurance class and i got all the scoop about the game, but family comes first.  Schmidt goes off for the upset win at sju, reminds me of the last time i played at st. johns in the first round of the playoffs.

Chairmen, thanks for the support this past season
HoopsPHD, thank you for the manifesto
Wonka, Thank you for actually trashing gustavus, i didn't know you had it in you.
Drake, Congrats on becoming an all american.
AO, thanks for still reminding me why i dislike you ;)
Let the Playoffs begin
