Pretty solid job by the voters.  My nits (or maybe, it should be my Nites  :D) would be:

1.    Not as a slight to Viau, but I would have put Wright on the first team.  How well do you think he would have done playing on the Tommies?

2.    David Olson had a large role in Auggie's success this year.  I would at least have made him honorable mention in place of Keeley.  His team went 0-25 and he missed the last 7 games of the season.

How much clout does Willy have at GAC?  Is it possible to have them outsource the play by play announcing of the Tommie game to VOJ?  VOJ, could you stomach a little rooting for the Gusties?

Nites thanks for the compliments...I like Mark Hanson...and the Gusty program is very good, I would be happy to fill in...just have to tell my wife I am going out for milk in St. Paul...yea thats it...what would be even better is having Willy right there...doing the game with me.  I broadcast for the fanbase that I am reaching...

If the game got too boring, you and Willy could make a game of trying to pick Drake out of the crowd.   ;)

Me?  I'm just an interloper no one would know anyway.   ;)  Since I'm 1,000 miles away, it's a bit of a logistical problem for me pop in and introduce myself to VOJ.   :-\  Besides, I wouldn't be able to offer the astute basketball analysis that you are able to provide.   :)

We thought you were the interlocutor, not the interloper.  ::) ;)

And they know me?  ;)

Ahem.  Alright boys and girls.  I was able to go back through the DP archives & came up with this gem from the dearly departed, but not forgotten WXYZ.  (Photo below)

Since we're on the eve of yet another Gustavus-UST playoff clash I thought I would try to inject a bit of levity with my non-rhyming skills & present a new version of the holiday classic –

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"

It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jumping & hooping
And everyone telling you "Be of good cheer"
It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the hap-happiest season of all
With those fake Gustie greetings and UST bleatings
When rivals come to call
It's the hap- happiest season of all

There'll be leather balls for bouncing
hoops to be making
And defending out on the wing
There'll be post up moves to be made
And tales of the glories of
Gusties & Tommies long, long ago
It's the most wonderful time of the year

There'll be much ankle grabbing
And Gustie groping
When little Tuma flies by
It's the most wonderful time of the year
Oh, It's the most wonderful time
It's the most wonderful time of the year!
::) :o ;D

Okay, maybe that too. . .

+k for the ditty when time permits, but isn't it a little early in the day to be nipping at the bottle?

Ackshually it's the Robitussin talking.   ;) I've been sidelined since Sunday night with the crud which accounts for the flurry of posts. Hopefully, back to work tomorrow.

Sent me diving for the dictionary with that one Drake. +k as well when time permits for the ditty. Too bad you didn't take me up on the burger and beer bet on the J's game last night. ;)
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Interesting note from the Carleton write-up after last night's loss. The Knights are 0-16 on the road in the playoffs after losing to Augsburg. You have to find a way to get it done away from home, especially in the post-season. I could understand if you were playing at Gus Young, that's an electric atmosphere that's tough to play in. After watching the web cast, Augsburg basketball isn't high on the priority list in Minneapolis. Plenty of empty seats in the house. I think more people were in the library.

I don't know among the board who looks at all the web sites around the MIAC, but Carleton has by far the worse writing in terms of being a rube. Every time the Knights win, they play perfect. Every time they lose, there's an excuse. Sometimes it's hard to read, imagine having to edit it!

At least give them credit for not writing it on a dark purple background.   ;)

Someone new this year is writing up the articles, so that is why they haven't been as good this year and aren't posted so fast. I believe in  the past it was Eric Sieger and he did a great job. Still does a great job with posting pictures from the games.

Really?  ;)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Nites — I've got connections, but no clout. I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of KRBI — who has an office basically on campus — for the clowns in New Ulm...but I know it's been a touchy subject around St. Peter.
