I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Gman, ticket info can be found here .

Based on past NCAA games at UST, I'd say Friday will be a sellout or close.

Saturday depends which teams advance.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

After seeing last weekend, Friday will sell out real quick.  Aurora might be the only school that doesn't sell their allotment if I had to guess.  I know Point will sell all of theirs and Cornell being a short 4 hour drive should sell most of theirs.  Whatever gets returned I have a feeling will go quick quickly Friday night....

If its the expected Point/ UST match up Saturday it should be dang close if not guaranteed a sellout.  That's gonna be one hell of a game assuming both teams take care of business Friday.

True Story & Good Humor moment of the Day:
(Or things, I don't particularly want to know)

I drove over to UST this morning this morning to pick up my tickets for the NCAA tournament this weekend.  As I made my way up the stairs, I walked though a 2nd floor small lobby area that's right outside the athletic administration offices in O'Shaughnessy Hall.  When I walked through the lobby I noticed what appeared to be a small coed student group of 8-9 students in a small classroom breakout session.  No big deal I think to myself –"nice to see students working & engaged at 8:30 or so in the morning." As I walk by them I heard this obviously irritated, female student:

"It's just so annoying you can't even use the bathrooms because people are having sex in the bathrooms at 4:30 in the afternoon."   :o  ::) ;)

I damn near keeled over & collapsed right there in the lobby!  So I'm chuckling & laughing as I walk into the admin office and begin talking to the friendly UST student working the ticket desk.  I tell her – "things can certainly be funny when you over hear only a part of a conversation.  She smiled, laughed & replied – isn't that the truth."  I then proceed to tell her I had just overheard a conversation out in the lobby which dang near made me blush.  We laughed some more & then she said, "Oh that group" pointing to the group in the lobby- "yeah, they cover some pretty interesting topics."

Yeah, I guess.  Back in the day we were lucky to have open house in the dorms every weekend, let alone Larry Craig-like coed open bathroom stalls.  ;)

I hope this was some type of "Health & Human Sexuality" class that was going on rather than a hook up discussion.

Drake- your story reminds me of an incident where I was taknig a shortcut from where I had parked to the stadium for a football game one fall day abut 6 years ago. Cutting thru a small woods, I stumbled onto a group of 3 or 4 students sharing some weed. Surprisingly, this was not on one of campuses readily thought of for liberalness/drug use, but rather was the most conservative school in the MIAC.  Im not sure which made me chuckle more, that thought or the look on the kids' faces when they thought they were busted.

Gacman

This is a little on the random side, but I just got done looking at the slide show for UST's new gym and I was wondering if anyone knows how much the gym will hold? Will It be similar or will it hold a little more? Holding more would make sense for a school like UST that is consistently playing in big games.

The new arena's capacity is listed as 2,000, which is 250 more than The Shoe's capacity for basketball games.

AO

I believe it's going to hold about 2000.  So a slight improvement from the shoe.  Clearly not enough if the demand is as great as it has been in the past couple weeks but it'll do.  I'm more of a "if you build it, they will come" kind of guy, so I think it would have made sense to build a 3-4 thousand seater with the 30million they had to play with.  More disappointing is they're building it the high school way of having fans enter the arena from the court level by the baselines and walk along the sideline to find a seat.  Not as bad as putting a track around a otherwise nice football field (sju), but close.

papahoops

I think I need to check my temperature and go to the doctor, for something must be clearly wrong with me, as I am agreeing with AO on a topic :)
I also believe the new UST gym should have been at least in the 2500 range. I realize you don't want to build/design too much capacity and make "regular" game crowds seem lost in a bigger facility, but some recent games clearly show they could use more than 2000 for big games, and would make the facility more attractive for D3 NCAA playoff events as well. There are certainly ways of designing a facility so you have the capability of seating more people for big events, yet keep crowds for less attended games in a lower section to maintain intimacy.
