Mose, must be hanging out at the Shoe already. Haven't seen a post from him in quite a while.

Cmob, Tubby's boys gonna get the skunk bears tomorrow? If they do, are they in the Dance?
I think the gophs RPI would still be looking pretty good even with a loss tomorrow, but we're not dropping another game at Williams this season.

so are they selling tickets for saturday after game 1 or game 2 tonight?  I'd assume after game 2.

So they're making the pointer fans watch the entire 2nd game before buying their tickets?

How many tickets are allocated to each team competing on Saturday is likely tied to the outcomes of both of tonight's games.

AO

I can understand allocating tickets for family, but if you're going to have a full arena how about you raise the price a bit and sell it to the general public over phone/online?  or at least sell them in one predicatable location.  perhaps this is an ncaa rule that you have to sell tickets at all of the colleges rather than just the host school?

Can we just replace Myles Brand with AO and get this over with? He's got answers for everything  ::) ::)

It might be a little late for those waiting in line, but I've got some feedback for the postseason awards and expectations.

Hoping Gene and/or his lackeys run a good blog tonight. Will others be listening on the radio for some updates here? I'll be stuck in the office waiting on two phone calls...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I am with you on this. Anyone from outside the metro area, the physically infirm, or even the people with a daytime job have no chance to see the games in person.
Another idea: Sell tickets in 2 separate sessions for Friday night. Lawrence, a team with a small gym, did this when they hosted and it seemed to work out well. This would also generate more revenue. Surely somebody at St. Thomas thought of this?
A saving grace is that the game appears to be scheduled for live video on MN Sports network.  Speaking of live video, I am watching the MIT game and seeing a lot of defense that would never pass muster in the MIAC or WIAC.

Greek Tragedy

Any live stats, or just video and audio?

Lawrence two separate sessions worked out well, if you didn't go to the first game.  I was there.  I went and saw the first game and when that finished, we had to clear out and go to the end of the line for the 2nd one.  It was insane.  I mean, if we were there already, why not let us "cut in line".  There were sections blocked off for each team, so it's not like we were stealing prime seats from LU or IWU fans.  But, there really wasn't any other way to do it, so the it worked out at the end for the staff.

St. Thomas doesn't, to my knowledge, block off seating. At all. Years ago, hundreds of GAC fans showed up at 5 p.m. for a 7:30 tip and "stole" all the good seating. The BV fans last year arrived a little late and were stuck in the corner opposite the team's bench. That could play a role in the ticket situation?

How exactly do you get the video.  I can hear the audio.  When I click "Listen Live" I get this screen that pops up and a video commercial plays and then the screen goes blank.  All I get is audio.  Any help would be appreciated.

Honestly, I'm at work and not watching the game. However, it might not even be worth it. The UST blog says the Tommies are up 18-2.

So much for worrying, right?

Oh, and UWSP held off a scrappy Cornell team something like 62-53. It was tied 53-53 with about two minutes to play.

T's up 18 with about 8 to go in the first half.

Point wins the first game!

I had to click around a little bit on the site. Try looking at the full schedule and then click on the appropriate channel. I would mute that audio though and use d3hoops audio.
Tommies shouldn't complain about this easy 1st round game.  #2 Wash U had to face Lawrence and survive a missed layup at the end to win by 2.

Buf,

I got to the same place, but then noticed a little message at the top of the screen asking permission to download some player of sorts.  Click yes to that and then the screen on the right will go active and you can then click play.

VOJ

It's true that I am biased in this situation. Numbers get hard to compare when talking about GAC this year because there was so much balance. Actually unprecidented really. To be honest Ryan McPartland was probably our most consistent player and could have easily gotten the nod over Van Sickle. As for player of the year, how the race didn't come down to Madson and Johnson is beyond me. I respect VOJ's opinion that the best player on the best team got it, but the other two players we are talking about are coming from playoff teams, good teams. If you take scott off of UST I think that they might still win conference handly. They are that deep. You take any of the other two off there teams and they don't make the playoffs. People can make the arguement that the came from teams that had less balance or less scoring options than UST which is why Scott averaged less per game, there are other players on other teams in this conference that had the same amount of scoring options as bethel and Carleton but didn't rise to the same level as Madson or Johnson. I mean Madson single handly beat some teams down the stretch including us at Bethel where he outscored Van Sickle's best performance of the year. You had to gameplan more for Johnson than any other player in the conference, period.  So it should have gone to Johnson, but if you argue that they finished to low in the standings than give it to Madson, who's team finished second in the regular and post season.

I guess I just have a hard time arguing with those stats. Hipp is the only one of your three that is hard to argue with considering where he ranked in a bunch of categories,
but HU already has Thrasher named to the All-Conference team and SJU had Burtzel as Drake Palmer pointed out. Congrats to all who made it on the AC team and as I said before someone has to get left off.

Gacman,

Fong missing the last 5 games probably does disqualify him and he's a FY, so Van Sickle probably would rank above him.  However, Hipp should have been ahead of Van Sickle.  Schwartz slumped at the end of the year so I'm not sure he is deserving of all-conference, but I would have selected him over Van Sickle.  He topped Van Sickle in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks (although the differences were insignificant in some categories).  Still, a close call and VS probably got the nod because SJU had Burtzel.  Then again, you're biased because Van Sickle was a teammate, and my opinion is pretty much worthless because I haven't seen either player play!   :) ::)

Welcome aboard.  What's your take on the POY selection?

GACMAN...your awesome baby with a capital A...in my book you will always be PTP'er...now just get Drake and Willy to come around...

Hey CMOB, next year you need to sit with me during a game and gauge the boombahlaties in the crowd...if they will leave you alone long enough
