B.J Viau had a nice interview on 1500 with Reusse on Monday. At one point, Reusse asked him about Friday's game and he forgot who the opponent was (He said Buena... wait who are we playing again?) But said they'll be ready to go on Friday.
Reusse also took a shot at him for missing lay-ups and then served up a painful reminder of the HS state tournament when Hoffarber hit his infamous shot. Both Viau and Johnson were on the floor for that. Viau's response: "That joke never gets old." As Reusse pointed out, it's too bad that Hoffarber can't hit shots standing up these days.

I don't see any reason for UST to change its style of play. Let's see a track meet and see how it plays out with their depth.

Just posted this on the NWC board...figured probably should have posted it here...

Gac and Nites thanks for all the input!  Really appreciate it.  Sound like these teams are pretty similar.  I worry a little bit about the UPS offense in the half court...does UST zone at all?

From the way that you guys described UST pressure, I don't think that UPS will have too much trouble with that aspect.  Williams is one of the quickest players I have ever seen.  If they can slow him down I will be really impressed.  If their defenders are going to try to stay in front of him one-on-one, they will spend most of the game chasing him from behind.  Also, most players on UPS are very comfortable handling the ball, since they practice against the press all year.

As far as UPS defense goes...they have a tendency to give up some easier shots.  But they have been doing better at getting back and taking away lay-ups.  That being said, their half court d has looked very strong this year.  For UST to have success they need to take advantage of their fastbreaks.

This is a very interesting match-up and I can't wait for the game on Friday.

Still planning on having a post about the UPS players...sometime soon here.

With all the recent Tommie-media love, I'm ready to vote for them for president!

Mig,

Rumor has it that BumKneez has internet connection again and is mobilized.  His appearance on this forum should take place any minute now........that is unless he is intimidated by all the GAC fans on here...oh wait...GAC fans are probably too busy reading the St. Peter best seller "Acting Classless for Dummies" book.

im very excited for tonight...a couple players i use to coach are playing on ESPN tonight for their chance to go to the BIG DANCE

so tonight pull for NDSU!!

unless you are an oakland fan...

GO BISON!!

Cmob..... Your boys did it last night! The Bison are going dancing. It sure didn't look pretty for about 36 minutes of that game though. You have to give the senior class at "SU" a lot of credit for hanging in there. 5 years of practice for last night's game and they won it.

Haha, I have recently been receiving withheld calls from what I found out to be a GAC fan.  They really took that little shenanigans I pulled before the GAC/UST game seriously, it seems to have hurt them real bad deep down inside.  They like to leave cute little messages and call at all hours of the night.  They have really stepped up their game this time. Haha

How sweet was the end of that game last night?  Oakland down 2 gets a huge throwdown to tie it with 11 seconds left,  bison come back without taking a timeout and woodside plays the hero but leaves enough time for oakland to come back down and get a good look at the potential game winner.   My old high school nemesis winkleman almost managed to choke the game away, while some guy named tveidt took the team on his shoulders.  they're definitley a scary team in the tourney with their 3 point shooting ability.

Ben Woodside was clutch in the last 4-5minutes of the game.

Winkleman was an absolute freaking stud in high school so I don't imagine he had too many nemeses that were future D3 benchwarmers.  ::) :-*

First of all, shut the hell up.  2nd of all, you have no idea what a morris vs lpge game looked like 6 years ago.   3rd of all, woodside is unbelievable, put up 60 earlier in the year.  i'm definitely picking the bison to win a game, maybe two in the tourney.

Thus will continue your consistant inherentness to have the wrong take and be mocked mercilessly for it.

Bison lose by 15 in the first round.  Hell the Gophers kicked thier ass earlier in the year...

You can't win brackets without picking a few upsets.  The gophs were playing much better earlier in the year....

Can't believe i am doing this....in AO's defense the Bison have a phobia about playing in Williams! In the times this group has played there they have never shot well. I think they are a much different team now than when they played the Gophers early.

AO, If the Bison can avoid a #15 seed they have a shot at winning a game. I have seen them projected anywhere from a 13-15 seed. One bracket has them playing Mich St. @ Msp in a #2-15 matchup. Playing in Minney would be a home game for these guys, but not enough of an advantage to knock off MSU.

i think the bison will get a 13 or 14 depending on how everything plays out here with other conf championship games...im hoping they end up in the dome or at very worst KC...if they make it to the dome i bet it would be a crazy atmosphere for that game...green and gold everywhere

i will be picking the bison to win their first game as well

this same group of guys has had some big wins over the years...one of them being the upset of the drunken sconnies in Madtown...one of the toughest places to get a win in the big ten
