i think the bison will get a 13 or 14 depending on how everything plays out here with other conf championship games...im hoping they end up in the dome or at very worst KC...if they make it to the dome i bet it would be a crazy atmosphere for that game...green and gold everywhere

i will be picking the bison to win their first game as well

this same group of guys has had some big wins over the years...one of them being the upset of the drunken sconnies in Madtown...one of the toughest places to get a win in the big ten

Also got Marquette at Marquette a couple of years ago!

Didn't they also beat the Gophers at the barn like 2 years ago?  I might be thinking of Winona St.  Not sure.

It was Winona and not the Bison.  NDSU has lost to the gophs by around 15 every year.

Ben Woodside was clutch in the last 4-5minutes of the game.

Winkleman was an absolute freaking stud in high school so I don't imagine he had too many nemeses that were future D3 benchwarmers.  ::) :-*

First of all, shut the hell up.   2nd of all, you have no idea what a morris vs lpge game looked like 6 years ago.   3rd of all, woodside is unbelievable, put up 60 earlier in the year.  i'm definitely picking the bison to win a game, maybe two in the tourney.

Orifice - that doesn't sound like a very Christian like response.  And are you serious??  ::) ::)

I saw Winkleman play 5-6 times on the AAU circuit the summer before his senior year.  I saw firsthand what he could do against future D1 & D2 players such as Steven Neal, Spencer Tollackson, Ryan Amoroso, Matt Cadwell etc.

Here's a key distinction:   LPGE may very well be a chief town rival to Morris, but I seriously doubt Winkleman lost any sleep over facing a certain "AO."  Winkleman's got more muscle in one arm than most people have in both legs.  8) ;)

Depending on their seed, I also like NDSU in the first round.

As with most high school players, he didn't have near the muscle as a junior in high school as he did perhaps just months later for his senior season.  As a junior he was easy to push around, a welcome break from the john carlsons and scott peters of the world.  I was exaggerating with the nemesis bit, they were close games, but they were nothing like the Morris vs. New London-Spicer games from the mid-90s where Kevin Loge would face off against Jamie Swenson and the wildcats.

Gawd - now you're accusing him of steroids?  ::) His last high school game in his junior year would have been what  - February, March?  The first time I saw Winkleman play was at some AAU tryouts/games in April & or May, 2-3 months later. The guy already looked & played like a Greek God.  AO - I'd just leave this alone.

Speaking of specimens, John Carlson was mentioned before me, but he is the strongest player I have ever played against at any level.

Also, I'm pumped that the NCAA will be carrying the games on D3hoops.

Pot, meet kettle.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

A Greek God, ...really?  and I'm the one who is exaggerating?   I'm not trying to pump myself up, just fun to see someone you played against growing up, get it done on national tv.  ESPN noted that last night's game was the first live national tv broadcast of a sporting event in south dakota.   I really think mankato st. and st. cloud state made a mistake by not going to d1.  they're not going to compete in the big ten, but as NDSU proved last night, they can still get to the dance.

speaking of carlson and the hated litchfield dragons, how in the world did we decide to keep the 4 class system after that year where litchfield in 2A was the best team in state?

Jimmy Chitwood

Willy,

Not classless, just sheer emotions and excitement for the Purple.  I can't always control what my body does when emotions are running high like on Saturday night.

I once T-d young Carlson up in a game! Thought I was going to have to T his Dad as well!  ;)

For you would be D3 basketball history buffs, here's an interesting read & great stats.  Something tells me some of this info may show up in one or two of our more popular local blogs.  ;)
