anyone know if there will be a live video feed over the internet of the game....i looked at the CAR website and didnt see anything

CM and others - We're working on getting video up and running at UWSP. At this point, I feel safe in saying we're fairly certain we can pull it off. Heck, we did it at Simpson for the women's NCAAs a couple of years back by plugging in an old Apple Airport Express box into the soccer coach's office and made an instant wireless network. We're thinking we can do it at UWSP as well, as they actually have one hardwired ethernet connection in the gym.

Once we know for sure we'll post it on our website.

And I remember watching that game at Simpson versus UWEC.  That is pretty sweet when a school goes on the road to videocast a game.

I know UWSP is very solid, and this might be my MIAC bias talking, but I'm not sure that UWSP didn't come out on the worse end of that draw. CAR has been virtually flawless over the second half of the season and poses huge match up problems for 99% of the teams that they play. It's rare to find a D3 team with 2 big men who can match up with a 4/5 combo that can both shoot and post up very well. Not to mention the rarity of a team who has the bigs to match up with CAR and then an athlete who can match up with Sutherland. UWSP may very well be a team capable of doing that, but it's going to be a dog fight.

6'7" 190 lb Nick Krull matched up with 6'9" 235 lb Dustin Mitchell of UWWW and helped hold him to 4 pts (19ppg)/5 reb/4 to in the WIAC champ tourney game. He had some help with double teams at times. 6'6" 225 lb Scott Hoelzel held 6'6" 230 lb Mike Bendall to 6pts (10ppg). Both were spelled by 6'8" 220 lb Ross Forman. 6'5" 230 lb Louis Hurd normally guards the inside man for opposing teams. 6'4" 200 lb Jared Jenkins usually guards the athlete on opposing teams and is spelled by 6'4" Dan Tillema (who can jump out of the gym - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmzA5Mn1t0k ).

I think UWSP matches up pretty well  ;D and I hope for a close exciting game. By the way, the crowd will be loud and expect 2700+ in the stands.

Point has not yet had live video for any of their basketball games (though they have experimented with it for hockey, so they're obviously considering it somewhat).  I read somewhere that the NCAA is going to have live video for the sectionals and D3Hoops is going to try to have vid at as many locations as possible.  SP is the closest pod to Minnesota and Pat... so (and this is purely a guess) there might be video from D3Hoops, even for the first pod.

Unless I hear differently, Pat and I will be covering the games from Quandt this weekend here on d3hoops.com and as far as I know it will be a video and audio feed which I assume you can find right on the front page right before the first tipoff at 5:30 Friday, or at least that's what we did for the Hamline/UST game a week and a half ago....

Looking forward to seeing three great games this weekend....don't sleep on St. Norbert....they could be a definite sleeper in that quad.

D3sports.com will be doing live video from UW-Stevens Point, all three games.

In past years that info has typically been released the Wednesday or Thursday before the first round of the national tournament. I'd expect it to come out in the next 36 hours.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Wow... is everyone waiting for the weekend's games or is everyone in line at the ticket window for the opera hoping to see DP?

My guess is the league All-Conference selections etc will either come out in the next hour or else sometime tomorrow. As WW noted, they try to get those out before NCAA starts.

I talked to a bud of mine who is a sportswriter in Indiana (mainly hs). I asked him what he knew about Anderson, and he said "THEY made the NCAA??" and laughed for about 20 seconds. But looking at their stats, they seem to be pretty solid, with 4-5 guys averaging in double figures and a seeminly potent offense. UST's defense should be a good test for them.

The Car-UWSP matchup intrigues me. If Car plays like they have the past 3-4 weeks, it could be an upset win for the Knights. Definitely one of the best games in the opening round.

His disbelief in quite natural. Anderson does not have a history of fielding strong basketball teams. In fact, this is the first-ever trip by the Ravens to the D3 tourney.

More than likely the people are patiently waiting for Mose to descend from Mount Sinai (Cretin & Summit avenues) and deliver his State of the MIAC address before the tribes of Carleton and St. Thomas go off into battle.  ;)

Nice graphics DP, although if Mose had the power of the real Moses in that photo, the knights would not have been victorious last week :) :)

Ha...And to think some people are actually PKs.  Some folks remembered their Sunday school lesson – the biblical Moses was never able to cross over into Canaan with the children of Israel.  On a far, far smaller scale, our MIAC Mose didn't want to be accused of nepotism, so he had to let the tribes battle it out without his intervention.  Certain hardwood scholars refer to this as "Free Will."  :o ;D
