Go get em Gusties, Tommies, & the orphan UMAC cousins - Northwestern!  ;)  Good luck AO.  You guys get another team in purple.

Are the printable brackets up yet?

I can't come up with any way off the top of my head that we're going to knock off Whitewater, but you can't quite count out a team that's dangerous from deep.  Just might get the rematch with the Tommies after all; a couple weeks ago I thought both squads would miss the tourney.

Looks like CMS likes the 3 ball too. 21 treys in their championship game against Pomona.  Tommies will have their hands full as well.

And for all weeks for a major snowstorm to hit the area.

If any type of crowd shows up at all, UWRF is going to be packed to the gills.  I think they barely seat 1,200 -1300 fans. Could be a great atmosphere for a game.  I might don my black & gold & head over to River Falls on Thursday to cheer on the Gusties. No way I'm going to Whitewater on a weeknight.

Tough draw for the Gusties - Wheaton will be tough. Tim McCrary for Wheaton is suppose to be a stud. 1-2 time All American.

I think STO, Hamline or UST has played Claremont in their trips out to California. Similar style to the Gusties?
Twas Olaf (Oles lost a fairly close one)....you can bet JT has been in touch with Koz for tips/info....and Im sure CMS coaches have done same with P-P, which lost to UST

Wheaton is a tough draw, no question.... and CMS is no slouch. the MIAC drew some tough opening round games and then likely battles with the WIAC co-kingpins.

VOJ-- care to ride shotgun with me on Friday?  :) We can stop in RF and pick up DP and he can give us the highlights of TH's barnburner  ;) (and yes DP I am only tweaking you)

With the way the "new" video exchange works, UST can download any game that involved MIAC teams. Thus, sure that coaches Tauer and Hayes are watching that game as we speak/type. I would guess the same is for CMS, watching the P-P v UST game.

At the time I downloaded the bracket, all games on the right hand side of the bracket showed a Thursday, March 1 date.  The left-hand side showed Friday, March 2.  Obviously, since the bracket was released they've made corrections and filled in times. I love how Larrylu shows up once a year to announce games & bust chops. :-* :) I haven't had time to analyze the draw, did Lawrence get in?

I'm thinking CMS could find far more than the P-P game online.  You could find all MIAC games online except the away contests at Concordia, Saint Johns and Hamline.

I'm around the rest of the year, I just read rather then grace the MIAC board with my ramblings....however around tourny time I just let it all hang out...

And no, No Lawrence this year, though seeing as how the 4th seed, Carroll made it out of the MWC tournament, I kind of wish they had found 2 more wins to sneak into the tourny and see what they could have done, but alas..

Ahh, hadn't thought of that. Stretch archives.

Fourth-team All-American last year. He'll be first- or second-team this year. I guarantee that McCrary will be the best big man that the Gusties see this season -- unless they get to the Elite Eight and see Chris Davis of UWW. Former D1 transfer Aaron Garriott of Wheaton is no slouch, either.

It's not a great Wheaton team, but the Wheaties will give GAC all that it can handle.

gusties in?   nice.    they must have gotten a couple of pieces of kim's chicken.   ;)

gustie12

The Gustie student fan base has already coordinated 4 full bus loads for Friday's game in RF. What a lucky draw for the team to get a first round draw 2 hours from campus and 1 hours from the cities when 1/2 of the Gustie students are from the cities, including alumni.

I'd suggest the Gustie students pre-order their tickets, UWRF is a small gym.  Sounds like a blast gustie12... to be young again...

Posted on the WIAC board as well.

When I read the UWRF website regarding their process for distributing tickets for this Friday's games, I got a little nervous so I called over there to get the scoop.  Here's what I found out.

Karges (?) Gym seats approximately 1,800 people.  They are reserving 745 tickets apiece for Gustavus and Wheaton, which leaves 350 tickets for the general public. Tickets will go sale Wednesday morning at 8:00AM. I've got to believe the Gusties will come close to using up all of their allotment, but I'm not so certain about the Sonic Air Disturbance aka Wheaton Thunder.   Sensei  - how well do the Thunder travel?

For the second half of the double header, Edgewood & UWRF game, Edgewood will receive approximately 500 tickets while River Falls will get close to 1,000.  Separate ticket purchases will be required if one wanted to watch both games.  Tix are 8.00.

With a potential major storm moving through the Minneapolis-St Paul & western Wisconsin area tonight, I'm not sure if I want to take a long lunch to drive over to River Falls to pick up tickets on Wednesday.  I'd think one could almost walk up and buy tickets on Friday afternoon. Thoughts?
