What's going on with Hamline???

They should be much better than what they are showing with all of their senior talent and experience in the tournament championship last year.

Hamline's results have surprised me as well.

It seems pretty clear that SJU is the class of the conference - we'll see if any other teams can pose a real threat to them.

Hopefully, if they emerge, they have enough horsepower to make some noise nationally.

I think Gustavus could give them a run.  They don't play until very late in the season, but I think GAC is pretty darn good.

Gustavus has the firepower to keep up with SJU and those will be fun games to watch. GAC's size and three point shooting should prove a challenge.

GoldandBlueBU

A good chunk into the year now, and it seems like there is a sizable gap between SJU/Gustavus and the rest of the conference.

BU is better than I thought they'd be, but not on the same level as the top two, as was demonstrated when they recently played both.

I watched Dubuque take apart Gustavus in person a few weeks ago.  It's only one game but...I didn't see anything special in GAC--they're an old team, physically strong, but they couldn't handle UD's speed at all, looked plodding offensively.  In their tour-de-American Rivers they also barely beat Coe and Central, both of whom are decent but not great, but 2 of 3 opponent victories inside the Massey 100.  I could be wrong, but was very unimpressed with GAC.

I'd love to get someone's take here.  GAC has been rolling since this loss, but against subpar competition.  I understand how road games can be fluky, just curious how much of a quality win this was for UD.  Fun fact: on 12/30 Dubuque loses to 373rd Massey ranked Blackburn....on 1/4 UD runs over 29th Massey ranked GAC--go figure.

I'd say it's definitely Dubuque's best win on the schedule. I don't see evidence that Gustavus is a top 25 team yet, but they've been consistent all year.

Quiet winter in here....

Looking forward to seeing how SJU stacks up nationally when the tournament comes around.  Their Gustavus game could be interesting, but overall, the MIAC has been a snoozer for them, outside of a scare against the Cobbers.

Greek Tragedy

I wonder if they'll get a sellout crowd this weekend when St. John's come into town.

It's a really big arena, so that would be great. But probably unlikely.

I saw 3,500, but this has got to be the biggest game for them in at least a decade?

Are we not counting the conference championship game last year?

My MIAC history is very limited. LOL Boxscore says 2,999. Very impressive.
