Is tommycorn TH4L's new screen name? They seem to be spewing the same garbage :)

Everyone keeps saying Hamline will be "better than you think." What does that mean? If I think they'll win 3 conference games, does that mean they'll win 5 and we should call it a good year? Put a tangible number by your bold predictions, fellas :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

garbage you say, how can you deny it, these are proven players.  ike is the only ? in my opinion b/c he was so easy to push around last season, but he has substantially bulked up over the off-season

Greek Tragedy

So, any of you Tommie fans have any opinions on this weekend's Stout/St. Thomas game?  I listed it on the "games to watch" list since this site called both Stout and St. Thomas supersleepers this year!

Stout was picked just 4th behind Oshkosh, Whitewater and Point, but did receive a first place vote in the SIDs preseason predictions.  They return all five-starters.  They are a fast-tempo team that likes to run a lot and also pressure the ball.  It should be a great game to watch.

The STU/Stout match up should be a good one. I saw Stout play last year and there is no question in my mind that they would have won the MIAC. I believe STU is clearly the team to beat in the MIAC this year. If they play Stout tough, it is another sign thay are the frontrunner in the conference. Keep in mind that 4th in the WIAC could still be a top 20 national team, so a good performance against Stout would bode well for a possible future national ranking for STU.

All right, Wonka, I think they'll win 12 games, does that help? I said I thought GAC would win 15 and I think UST will win 18. And, I think Carleton will be around the same number as GAC. Don't hold me for downs, but for any of these predictions, it may be a game or two within that "magic guessestimate" but I think it will be close to that.

Is this bold enough?   :-*

Hey, triple burger, stating predictions is not smooching.

Besides, I'm used to a higher grade of candy than that!! ;)

Funbb - You dissin my candy shop?? >:(

You honestly think Hambone will win 12 conference games? Jon DeRock kid must really be the D2 talent he thought he was then. As for me...I'll believe it when I see it.

In the meantime, I feel like this board has become overrun with Piper-lackeys. Wasn't everyone saying the same thing about them (and St. Marys for that matter) last season? This is the Tommies and Cobbers year I think, with the Gusties set to challenge both.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

funbballer

Wonka, I like the premium, high grade variety so I'll have to shop elsewhere!

All I said about "Hambone" is I felt they would be better and yeah, they might win 12. Hell, maybe it'll be 9 or 10, I don't know. You wanted predictions, so I threw some out to you. (fact is, Chocolate Boy, you're scorching me for not making any "bold predictions", but I haven't seen anything from you! Now, I may have missed it along the way and if so, I apologize, but if you haven't, then toss it out there so we can compare!).  ;)

gusties

The Gusties will be very tough this year.  With weapons like TeBrake, Whittwer, Olson and Sowden, they are easily a force to be reckoned with.  That being said, I think they can handle STU man for man and definitely beat them during the year.  With Hanson at the helm, the Gusties will be atop the MIAC, no doubt about it!!

SPLASH

The no talent ass clown posts again!

I have been way too busy with work and have not been paying enough attention to the board.

Here are a few comments about the alumni game @ Mac.
1.) Pipes (and another alumn named Fernando) really an't catch the ball.
2.) Liddell needs to stay healthy or Mac will be in trouble. He has been struggling with a pulled hamstring.
3.) Team Alumni would have won by 30 if we not had even playing time for all 13 alumns in attendance.

sju4life

im really starting to like this board now.  Everyone seems to be talking about the cobbers and gac chasing the tommies for top in the miac and a few peeps says car.  Its amazing that ive been telling you how good the transfers are SJU got that u refuse to even give SJU a sniff of the top 4.  come the end of the year, you are all going to be surprised when SJU is up there!  You heard it here first!!!!!

crazy_carl

SJU4Life- It's easy to read what every team's fans/alumni/insiders say on this board, but until the season starts, how can we truly know for sure about any team?  Those four squads you mentioned were all at the top of the conference last year, and until we see another team playing well enough to merit consideration up there, those same teams will remain at the top until proven otherwise.

SJU has been down for a few years now, so once the season starts (and if they play as well as you think they will) they will then get attention/recognition.

I feel the same goes for Hamline.

It appears that Willy & AK47 aren't the only ones showing a lotta love for "Mad Dog" Dixon:

...You know we lost Soren to graduation," Siverson said. "But we've still got 14 out of our top 15 players left, eight of which saw significant playing time."

Mark Dixon was the first name off Siverson's lips.

"I think Mark Dixon has the ability to be the top rebounder in the league." Siverson said. "He's hard to guard."

"Dixon is our main defensive blocker." Eckhoff said. "He's got all the potential to be and all conference player."

Hmmphh.  :-\

SJU WILL SUPRISE MANY PEOPLE!!!!!!! :o

ohme will get you when your not looking

my prediciton for SJU basketball...Ryan Leiser will make atleast 5, 3's in 9 games this year...and he will yell "BUCKETS" after ever make

watch out for carleton...they are hanging out in the weeds right now....T-Bird aka tommy drake is gettin ready to slam dunk a basketball

on a side note...in mens leauge our team took a big hit as neal anderson had to leave the game early with a sprained ankle...he is expected to play in our next game according to the injury report...and nick marx is expected back also after missing his 2nd game with a knee injury....our current record is 4-0 and neal anderson the current leading vote getter for the all star game
