Trivia Stat Line of the Day

Unnoticed by most of us, St. Marys played a game last night & beat Crown College 86-72.  While I was looking at the box score I happened to notice this:

                                     TOT-FG   3-PT                REBOUNDS
## Player Name            FG-FGA FG-FGA FT-FTA OF DE TOT PF  TP  A  TO BLK S MIN

 25 Eric Lear...........            6-6    0-0       2-3       2  1  3    1    14  0    1  0  0  9

The shooting line is nice but the kid scores 14 pts in nine minutes of play?!? Talk about Troy Hudsonesque - Wow!

Alright back to lunch.  :-\

eric lear is a solid player certainly deserving of more than nine minutes at st. mary's.  if i recall correctly, lear really came with excellent games against concordia's men's varsity basketball team last year during the basketball season.

Terry - Are you Matt's father? :)

Didn't Lear start as a freshman down there? I feel like he got more time a few years back. Batterman looks like he had a nice game as well, as did Sapp :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Drake - Here's another impressive stat-line for you:

Guard Chris Babcock of Hamline vs. North Dakota State
3-3 FG    2-2 3PT-FG   4-4FT    4REB   2AST  12PTS in 15 min.

You also make some good points about the NCAA Tournament selection process.  I think the WIAC will get two teams for sure, and likely a third if a team like UW-Stout is able to have the kind of season that some on the WIAC board are prediciting.

Sapp is still at SMU?  The kid is like Davis at MSU or McNamara at Syracuse...they just seem to play forever!

Alright, I leave for a couple of hours, come back & check on the board & both Wonka & me are down another Karma point?!? I don't know about Willy but I haven't posted on any other boards today to hack anybody off.  And, what I've posted today certainly hasn't been inflammatory.

The only other person/s with Karmic abilities that's posted today beside Willy & me, has been Local & OAS.  Hmm, OAS, you've got an unusual coding under your screen name.

Fess up fellas,  or the Hounds of Hades may be released.  :o

By the way Local you never did answer my earlier question.  Are you going to join us in Pickems this year?  You've got until 7:30 tipoff.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Includes Preseason All-Conference teams and Preeason Player of the year... nothing too out-on-the-limb though

Drake,

Are you all about the stats?  I'm a team player, I don't pay attention to stats! :)

I don't smite either, unless you're a real baffoon and that's not the case.  Check me off the list.

Local - remember the "Big Dance" has expanded to 58 teams that are eligible to compete in post season play this year.

It's actually expanded to 59 teams. And maybe that 59th slot will be the candy bar with the golden ticket inside for an at-large MIAC team.  ;)

Weel alright then OAS, guess I've have to trust you (Drake said begrudgingly).  Being a beat reporter for a certain D3 sports site, I thought you'd be all about the stats. In fact, come to think of it, who was just rambling on about a certain receiver from Linfield & his stats or lack thereof in the latest Playoff edition of D3 football reports?   ;)

In any event I've got my jawbone (Judges 15:16) ready for the smiter.  ;)

This is why I try to be as general as possible whenever I mention anything about the tourney or rules.  (smirk)

Just in case you all would be bored watching the Gophers or any MIAC action, you can all come to Richfield tonight and watch me embarrass myself trying to play basketball after not playing for four months. Even at my peak, I was a benchwarmer on the GAC JV.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm going and missing out on the MIAC openers tonight, but who knows how long I can manage to play ball? Better do it while I still can. The hook shot will be put to good use tonight.

Go GAC.

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

Big Shocker - I remember sitting in the stands at those games and playing a perverse game of "Pick'em." We'd try to pick the least valuable lineup. Basically, three guys would pick teams of five and we'd record points, assists and rebounds. Whoever had the highest score lost. You or Garvey would always be the first pick, though Madsen made some appearances after he finished a few games in a row a Matt Hofkens-esque (anyone else remember how he single-handed destroyed the Oles in 01-02 before quitting?) 2-15. Whoever got stuck with Lurken usually lost. Good times.

Anyone who's listening to scores tonight on the radio, please post them. I'm stuck at work again.

No thanks to a dead water heater, I'm listening rather than watching.  In addition, I'm barely listening since the feed keeps cutting out each time I try to post.

But at any rate UST 46 Carl 36 @ the half.
