Bad news for CON.....Word on the street is that Eckhoff may have an ACL injury & could be out for the season.   ???

Willy Wonka

Quick, Drake, post something nice about some more people from the Tommies! The curse of Posting Up strikes again!

On a serious note, that's terrible news for Eckhoff and the MIAC as a whole if the worst is realized. While his shooting may have been a tad off thus far, he was still in the running for conference MVP and his team would have been a tough out in the playoffs. Anyone from up north know if he might consider a medical redshirt to play next year? I'd guess the NCAA would grant him clearance to play starting in January if he applied, much like they did with Tim Brown last year.

Drake - The difference being I acknowledged your ousted blurb before the quote. You aren't :)

That is horrible news not only for CON but for a great young man. I wish him the best of luck and hopefully it isn't a tear of the ACL. You can always hope.

Tsk, tsk, tsk Willy!  As you should well know, even as occasional muckrakers, we are a principled lot.   Principle #333:  When engaged in "wonkadraking" be sure to include at least a tacit tip of the hat/acknowledgement to the quoter which I did -

"... not a team in this league that can beat them -- GAC and Cobbs included."   There's your acknowledgement.  ;D

Principle #1: When in doubt, highlight at least one portion of the quote to serve your purpose.   I'm serving my purpose.  ;)

FB - I sure hope you heard wrong about Eckhoff.  That would be a tough, tough blow to the Cobbs' chances of having a decent season, & a very unfortunate way to possibly end one's athletic career.  I don't know Keith Eckhoff personally, but from watching his on court play & demeanor, he seems to personify all that is good about D3 sports.  With the dark cloud that seems to be hanging over some of our professsional sports teams here in Minnesota, watching players like Eckhoff & the like is a refreshing change of pace.

Best wishes & good luck!

That would be an awful injury for Eckhoff and the Cobbers. Whenever I hear his name, the vision I have is of him in the MIAC playoffs my senior year in Moorhead when he completely faked out one of the UST players on a pass, then proceeded to drain an NBA+ range trey. It was unbelievable. Tough blow for Concordia if the worst is realized. Wouldn't be surprised if he tries to medical redshirt if it is a tear, he was top three in the MIAC for MVP even with a slow start.

Even if Eckoff manages to medical redshirt he may not return back to normal form next year. Speaking from experience an ACL injury is a horrible thing to deal with. It could take a year to get back to form and even two years to get his quickness back. With hard work and alot of time he could return next year but I doubt he would be the same player.

That all depends upon the individual: His healing capabilities (i.e., his metabolism), his work ethic, his professional guidance (trainers and coaches), etc. I've seen players take the court a year after an ACL tear as good as new.

Karma...

MAC's Liddell is out because of a hamstring injury. No word on when or if he will return.

It could go either way and i dont doubt Eckoff will work his ass off to get back if he choses to redshirt.

I imagine Eckoff will also have to wear a knee brace just for added saftey. Those braces are large and annoying things most of the time. I wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery.

Talking to Cobber players last night, they confirmed that Keith suffered an ACL tear earlier this week.  I am totally bummed out right now. Keith has been so fun to watch the past couple years.  Here's hoping the best to him, and a speedy and full recovery.

Are we done with the Hamline hype yet? They got beat tonight by 18 to a 2-6 St. Scholastica squad to fall to 2-6 themselves.

Drake - I was referring to the start of my sentence where I said "If they play like that..." They've clearly showed they can't play at that level consistently over the past two seasons and I'm counting on that continuing :)
