Gusties up 42-28 just before the half, TeBrake has 25. I think I heard him say "TommieHoops4Life what!?" over the radio broadcast as he ran back to play defense after his latest 3-pointer :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Augsburg is the worst team in the MIAC without a doubt.  Johnnies win tonight 75-59 in a game that should have been Johnnies by 30. Kozlowski had had 27 for AUG and that was it.  Henrichs had a double double 19 and 10. Leiser had 13 and C. Schafer had 12. Grant Hemmingsen , the Auggie post player, is the biggest joke ever ( yes worse than Shimek). He was 1-11 from the field. It seemed like he shot them out of the game early on. The Johnnies got every thing they wanted tonight and earned a good victory over a weak team.

Tommies win 69-63 in Moorhead. Dixon only played 7 minutes - was he injured? Great game by Citterman off the bench it looks like.

Watch - Hemmingsen looked alright against GAC. He's got good hands, but is clearly not in the greatest shape. He tired quickly and really hurt them when he got winded. It completely boggles my mind that the Auggies beat UST on the road.

CAR is on FIRE. They seem to be a very dangerous team. Look out they started out slow and are picking up speed.  Will they beat an equally hot team in BET at home on Wed.??

 ???
Did anyone else notice that the usually reliable Cobber web site has the score of tonight's UST-CON game listed incorrectly: CON 69, UST 63?  It should be noted that the Cobber box score and the MIAC standings are correct.    ???

Knights: That is what they wish the score would be! ;)

cobbers lose a great game at home to the tommies.  cobbs playing without eckhoff, without dixon almost deal UST a tough loss.  sweeney was the difference maker.  when things needed to happen, he made them happen.

wonka, dixon was injured in the early stages of game.  truly a sickening sight to see. just...gross.  the man's shoulder popped out of socket and as he was walking to the stairs with the trainer it suddenly exploded back into place.  the entire crowd freaked out.  it was visibly and audibly noticeable from the stands.

HUGE game at GAC on Wednesday. 2nd place Johnnies @ 2nd place GAC. Both teams seem to be playing well GAC has one 6 of 8 and the Johnnies are playing better and are on a 3 game winning streak. Early predictions on the game?

How quickly things can change in the MIAC standings.  It looks like Hamline and St. Mary's are on their way down, while Carleton and St. John's are on their way up.

I didn't make it to any games last night, but here are some things that stuck out to me while I was skimming over the respective box scores.

- Isaac Rosefelt continues to dominate the boards (15 last night in the UST win over Concordia)

- After a quiet offensive game against Hamline, Paul Henrichs finishes with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists in a Johnnie win over Augsburg.

- Zach Johnson with another nice game for Carleton, who as I said previously seems to have found their stride.  The freshman forward had 14 points and 5 rebounds last night.  The Knights hit 10 three-pointers, including six by Mr. Phillips.

- Hamline gives up over 80 points for the third game in a row, which translates into another loss.  Jon DeRock with 8 turnovers and only 2 assists. Kyle Foster leads the way for the Pipers yet again. Bench scoring was big for Bethel, who received 24 points from Matt Fredrickson, and 11 from Tim Madson. The Royals shot 56% for the game.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, SJU and Gustavus will battle for second place.  I have to think long and hard about this one before offering up a prediction.

Carleton and Bethel will play a key game for both teams, as both are currently on nice winning streaks.

Concordia and Hamline will battle for position in the sixth and final playoff spot.  It sounds like the Cobbers might be short handed.  Does anyone know the status of Mr. Dixon?

St. Mary's tries to get back on track at St. Olaf, while Macalester and Augsburg meet in what should be a slow it down physical affair.

Johnnies win 82-59 in what I would term "work men" like fashion. I was able to watch Henrichs have the kind of game I have been expecting from him all year(19pts,10reb,2blk,1s). C. Schafer had 12pts,7reb,2blk. so the Johnnie front line pretty much took care of business.

I saw some very positive things from the Johnnies. Last night they made the "extra" pass rather than settling for a jumper. This is reflected in the 18 assists, 4 over their season average. They had 8 blocks, they ave 3.5. This may be more of a reflection on Auggie. Overall, They seemed to have more bounce in their step than when I saw them against MAC.

Negatives were: way to many TO. They had 24 on the game. Granted AUG played pretty aggressive D, but to to have that many TO does not bode well. I am also concerned with the ease that AUG was able to get the ball down in to the low post.  If Hemmingsen had not shot 0-6 from the field in the first half the score would have been even closer than 8. Hemmingsen ended up 1-11.

Outside of Kozlowski AUG does not have much. How they beat UST is beyond my wildest imagination.

I am so dang sick of watching the Scots play basketball--if it can be considered that.  Talk about five INDIVIDUALS running around with no cohesiveness, no energy and no desire.

This is becoming the "Conboy with 20 in the Loss" team.  Someone has to light a fire under this guy's arse.  Right now he couldn't guard a one-legged post player.

Assel:   Seems to have hit the freshman wall.  Hopefully he'll be able to finish strong.   I think he'll become a solid MIAC player.
Bosman:  Playing tough.  Questionable shots at times but has had a strong year.
Conboy:  Gets his points but plays no D and is far from an on the court leader.
Hollander:  Far from the most talented but if everyone on MAC brought his type of energy, the team would be much better.
Johnson:  Still getting back into things after Mono.  Pretty much still a non-factor at this point.
Stein:  This kid played DII?  You gotta be kidding me!  He has been less than impressive so far.  Seems afraid to shoot and consistently turns down four foot jumpers.
Jepma and TRW:  JV players forced to play varsity with a short bench.  TRW plays great defense but is a liability on offense.  Jepma is simply over his head at the varsity level.

If these guys can't right the ship over the next couple games, they could finsih with less than five wins.

I sat with some alumni from the golden years 2000-2004 and they echoed many of these sentiments--specifically lack of intensity and desire.
