BETHEL34 - I here your team is receiving a nice, little, 6-10, gift wrapped D-1 transfer package?  If this rumor is true, will the Royals be able to use this "gift" when spring semester begins the first of February, or will they have to wait until next season?

Drake- Can you expand on this "package" ?? Who,Where from, and Why??  That would be huge for BET more size inside to go along with two pretty good guards. BET could be a big factor if this kid plays.

It's my understanding that because he already participated in practices and some games? for Niagra he has to sit out this season....also I've heard that many other D2 schools have been calling so whether he stays at Bethel remains to be seen...

Bethelbacker-Who is this kid? You said he came from Niagara? I was looking at the Niagara Roster and they have no 6'10'' kid listed.

He's not on the roster as he has left school & not on the team....so, it's my understanding.

I believe its the Moberg kid from Maple Grove that they're talking about.....

ike was gaurding johnson...when you get 2 fouls in the first half and you play for coach fritz his rule is you sit out the rest of the first half no matter what

funbb - I'm not even going to argue your statements at this point. The Gusties are way too inconsistent for me to keep getting upset this season :'(

Josh Moberg?? He graduated from Maple Grove in 2000! Is this the same kid who got kicked out of Augsburg for selling drugs and then transferred to Bethel, of all places? Has he found some way around the 4 years of eligibility rule?

Sidenote - Who would ever suspect Ausgburg has harsher penalties for such a deed than Bethel? Craziness!
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Drake--Just playing with you.

Watchmen--When i called Wonka to give an update after the MAC loss.   I told him I was on my way to the MAC bookstore.  I hope the Scots do something better the rest of the way.  The played a good first half, I heard, and I watched the second half.  NOT GOOD.  Conboy disappeared and they had no groove on offense.
Fredrickson played real nice for BU and Meadowpot stepped up good too.

oAs- Gonna be a long road for MAC to get back to get to 9-11. Hopefully they make the race close. I'd like to see them 8-11 in the last game.  ;)

I'm disappointed, Willie. I was looking forward to hearing how I've misjudged your Gusties.   ;)

The word on campus is he has transfer to Bethel and will play starting next season.  This brother also goes to Bethel and is a solid guy.

It was nice seeing you yesterday OAS

Sorry to post this on a college board but, Kobe is amazing!!!! 81 points in a game. Plus the game was competitive and it wasn't a blow out by 50.  Is he the best player in the game right now??

Was at the UST/Carleton game Sunday, so I'll post my thoughts. Dan Forkrud is amazing and right now is in my opinion the front-runner for MIAC MVP. He scored 20 of his 24 in the first half. If he isn't already, Zach Johnson is going to be a star in this league, 25 points and he seems to score in streaks. Carleton does a great job in its halfcourt offense using screens and flex cuts from the baseline and to the free throw line to create layups and several other easy opportunities. I would have liked to see Ike on Forkrud more, Shimek simply can't guard him, and he was exposed on Saturday. Ike got two fouls early in the first half, sat the rest of the half and played much of the second at half speed, so he was largely ineffective. Sweeney seemed to just be going through the motions and didn't seem to care much about playing. The Tommies shot horribly, their offense disappeared when Ike went to the bench and about the only thing that impressed me about them was Keating getting more aggressive on the offensive end, taking more shots and such. If the MIAC sends two teams to the NCAA this year, right now there's no doubt in my mind that UST and Carleton will be the representatives. The Knights are the hottest team in the conference right now, and nobody can beat them if they keep playing like they have been. Must be nice to have four players that average in double figures, and they play great team basketball. That was probably the most unmotivated I've ever seen UST play, which was a polar opposite from when they whooped on the Gusties. I couldn't have been more embarrassed by some of the UST fans/parents. They were yelling at the refs the whole game, and I thought the officiating was pretty decent. Referees aren't perfect and they're not going to make every call in your favor, so get over it. Probably the most laughable part was late in second half, UST had its second unit out, while Kalland was trying to get his subs in. He had four guys at the scorers table waiting to check in with about four minutes left, but there weren't any stoppages for a good two minutes. Some parents were standing up and yelling that Carleton was classless and I even heard a "I hope your starters get hurt!" It's one thing to be frustrated when your kid or team is getting blown out, but be the bigger person and shut your mouth. Kalland was trying to get subs in, but there were no stoppages. It's not his fault your kids are playing unmotivated and getting outplayed in every facet of the game.

UST parent/fans yelling at refs? Youve got to be kidding me. That NEVER happens.
There are a pretty decent number of Tommie parents and older fans who constantly ride the referees, regardless of how much they are behind or ahead-its been embarrassing so long as I have been associated with the team. Up by 30 or down by 20, they arent going to give the refs any breaks-UST always seems to be PLAYING AGAINST the refs in their eyes. Some of the parents/fans in the stands behind the UST bench are so over the top and ridiculous with their in-game dialogue that my parents found it hard to even sit there when they would come to watch us play. The classic example of the quintessential behind-the-bench Tommie parent/fan has to be the wild cheering that occurs when an opposing teams best player (whod no doubt been cheating all game) FINALLY gets called for a foul-setting off a standing ovation complete with finger pointing and enthusiastic yells of 'yes, yes, yes'. Very mature and classy coming from people age 30+. I avoid that seating area at any of the away games I now attend as a fan, so as to not be linked to such ridiculous behavior. It embarrassed me when I was on the bench, and it embarrasses me now in the stands. Support your team, but exude some tact when you do it Tommie backers.
