AUG finally posted the game results:

BET over AUG, 85-64

Man, I'm really glad I didn't stop to watch the Tommies today as I had planned. What a thrashing! With the Gusties on tap Monday, I'm gonna take my digs now while I still can :)

miacmaniac - Feeling a little lonely on the Keating for all conference bandwagon? After another subpar performance (5 pt, 0 rb, 3 tos), you'd be hard-pressed to find someone to back your case, especially when Schnettler is outrebounding him 54-46 in conference play. Heck, Ronny Seiklay is performing nearly as well in a quarter of the time.

Is Keating the bust of the year in the MIAC?

(There I started it...hopefully the Gusties can keep it within 30 this time so I don't get finished by everyone else on here...)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I know its off the topic of MIAC, or even DIII, basketball, but   J.J. Redick is a stud. First 6 minutes= 11pts, 3of 3 from 3 land, and his 2 pt make was from about 18 feet.  WOW!!

Rather impressed with Ranwick's shooting this evening.   I hope he keeps it up!

T-shirt purchase is on hold...

I would be scared to bet on the Johnnies right now too oAs. But MAC gets a win and needs a couple more for you to get a t-shirt.

Johnnies waste another opportunity to seperate themselves from the rest of the pretenders! SJU scores a grand total of 6 points in the last 10:50 of regulation!

Without seeing or listening to the game it appears the culprit is once again putrid shooting! 25% shooting from deep, including 18.8% in the second half. 18 turnovers and only 6 assists doesn't help matters either.

Johnnies were 6-7 from the FT line, while the Knights were 13-18.

Henrichs has 0 pts and 2 reb in 19 min was he sick or did he get hurt?

SJU has 4 out of their next 5 at home. Critical stretch for them.

oAs, I would think that Monday's game against STO is do or die for the Scot's! If they lose that one as Dandy Don would say.." Turn out the lights, the party is over"!

Yeah, while Ranwick exhibited a fine set of shooting skills yesterday afternoon, it was L. Johnson who had the big "breakout" game.  Going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc has got to be a huge confidence booster.  His best was at the 1:20 mark in the second half when he nailed the 3 as he fell to the floor after being fouled by SMU's Cormier.  That sequence even promted BVT to burst onto the  floor in a fit of congratulatory fervor.  WOW!

Sumander: Smith just didn't play Henrichs. I think i remember the announcer saying it was the first time in his career that he has played a game and not scored. The Johnnies shot well right away Westman was 3-3 from outside at one point but it only went down from there. The Johnnies should have been up by about 10 at the half but evey time they had a chance to extend the lead they would boot the ball out of bounds.

As for Monday vs BET I am actually scared again for the Johnnies. BET got blown out by the Johnnies in Dec but that was nearly two months ago and both teams have changed alot. The Johnnies have a chance to lose this one and if they do their chances at making the playoffs will diminish alot. I pray that they can win this one.

Wonka-  Please gets your facts right: I've never said Keating was having an all-conference season. I was on – and still am on - the Shimek bandwagon for all-conf. (If in doubt, ask watchman  :)) With Ike & Schnettler as locks to spots on the squad, it will be interesting to see who the coaches select—Shimek or Sweeney.

I have found it rather disgusting that you'd choose to spend nearly the entire season ragging on a player whose season basically mirrors YOUR career. Back in your FY at GAC, the buzz around the league (even excluding the one-man hype on here from Vel) was that somehow this golden haired (full head  :)) stallion from Rochester had landed in Hanson's lap and was going to single-handedly lead GAC to total and utter domination of the entire Free World. He was supposedly a lock as a 4-time all-MIAC and probably win a couple MVPs and add a few all-America honors just for fun. Things didn't quite turn out that way, did they?

Keating's stats this year are virtually identical to your senior year (sorry, like you, I'm too lazy to research your entire career ;)). His "excuse" is in the same vein as yours- dealing with a painful medical condition. Yet, like you, he plays on thru that, fills his role well and does the things his coaches ask of him, provides his team with leadership and a steadying hand.

I'm sure anyone who spent your 4 playing years simply looking at a stats sheet would have made many of the same asinine comments about you that you've made about Keating. But anyone who got off his duff and watched you play would not. I suggest you o the same with Keating.

Mike's a good kid, plays hard, knows his role, and does everything he can to help the team win. Does that sound familiar? Maybe you see too much of yourself and your playing career in Keating?

mm - He's actually doubled my scoring average, but we won't talk about that :)

It's hard to hit the MVP or best shooter in the conference and - since I like Shimek's game - that only leaves Keating, who hasn't lived up to the preseason billing. Hopefully he lives up to my anti-hype Monday :)

Gophers finally get a win in the big-10 over Indiana. Hoosiers horrible shooting draws comparison to the Johnnies. ;)

One of the characters on the new "Survivor" that airs on Thursday(CBS), is a 27 year old Bethel grad.  I guess she played on the soccer team.

Good lord, I'm not sure how I would have made it through the week without that bit of trivia information!!

"Survivor" is actually a fairly decent description of some of these MIAC teams that are hanging on trying to make the playoffs. February is going to be very, very interesting. My prediction for the Gusties at 15-5 and UST at 18-2 may still hold true, but the Tommies would have to run the table for that to happen and they've demonstrated they don't always "show up" to play. And the Gusties have UST & CAR to play along with potentially tough games at STO and SJU.  (I say a potentially tough game at STO because I heard the Koz is leaving the coaching up to the captains.)   ;)

I think the conference champ will end up with 3-4 losses.

Yep, the next 3 weeks will be fun for fans and hell for coaches!!
