After the Mighty Scots fall and OaS disappears, it does get pretty quiet around here. I'm going back over to the football board and have a Hamm's.
Make sure whomever is driving the bandwagon on Saturday swings by and picks me up on the way to see the Johnnies thrashing of the Pipsqueaks.

I noticed the FB boys took a field trip yesterday! Fins even took in the Johnnies BB game!

I'm a little worried about OAS. First, I get a call from him at 11:05 p.m. last night. No message. I just assume he was off the leash and went back to the Green Mill.

Now, no updates to oas.com and no posts on the Scots costing him 15 dollars at the bookstores. Amber Alert!

I would go with Scot alert.  I am slightly concerned too he never misses a day posting. I guess i could see if he was taking a day off after last night but its not like him. Hopefully he is just working.

Fins, have the rest of the boys ready and we will pick all of you up for a burger and a Hamms prior to tip off!

Even though I was at St. Olaf/Gustavus last night, I think I could hear Keating from Arden Hills yelling "Willy Wonka what?!" after dropping 20 and 10 on the Royals last night. Sorry WW, had to do it after TeBrake went nuts and you backhanded me. Nice to see you last night. It's shaping up to be quite a battle for the playoffs, but it in the end, Carleton and UST will be battling at Schoenecker for the right to the NCAA's.

Kilted Rat

OAS was spotted today in his office reading all the unkind things said about him and re-reading the boxscore from last night:

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Touchdown Tommy

He sure did a lot of yapping to go AWOL today.  We call those Post Patterns or in this case Posting Up Hit and Runs.  Bethel fans are notorious for them during football season.

Willy where you at?  TDT is a little suspicious about this "medical study".

Just got back from my study and a work convention and haven't even checked box scores yet. However, I did catch up on all the postings.

THANK GOD Loco has time to spend 4 hours pouring over each game to provide a stat-based speculation on how the game went. I don't know what I'd do without it. It's a wonder he can't spare 2 hours to get out and actually watch a game.

As for oAs...he called me 4 straight times last night around 11 pm. My battery had 1 life left and, unfortunately, the up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-b-a-b-a-select-start code wasn't going to get me 30 free guys. So, without a charger, I was forced to ignore them in order to save it for the call for directions in the morning.

For what it's worth, I did learn an interesting Mac cheer last night that's done at soccer games - which also happens to be the only sport they're good at. My memory isn't great so it could be slightly off, but the basic idea is all there...

We like weed,
We smoke crack,
Worship Satan,
We're from Mac!
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

One more thing...if the Tommies have five guys with between 7-14 shots and four guys over 14 points, they will be all but impossible to beat. Or else Bethel is still just atrocious at defense and Bjorkland may be ready to go upstairs.

Or both.

It's been awhile since you posted anything with this high quality, quotability quotient.   ;D It seems you've been using your better material on the women's board i.e. the Tom Petty play on words & lyrics, the recent reference to the apocalypse etc.   May I quote you on this?   ;)

UST/BET -

I was at the game unlike bumkneez, who's post makes it sound like he had first hand insight.  And, while I wasn't at the first game between BET and UST and can't defend Bjorkland on that account, I can defend him this game.  Schnettlers 8 threes were not a product of coaching the defense to play off him in help side... they were a product of HARD WORK.  He worked 3 times as hard as anyone on the court to get open and was keeping the defenders off balance by using a ton of screens and hard cuts.   There were maybe 1 or 2 threes that came off fade screens with a skip pass, other than that he simply ran harder and longer than anyone else.

I can say now that it is not surprising that BET has had such a mediocre year.  The majority of their shots came from one on one moves.  They don't work the ball around and don't seem to play with much discipline.  It was very evident by their game total of 11 assists that there was way too much solo basketball.  They have the shooters to be effective if they work the ball around and make the defense work and tire, which I feel would play more to their strengths.  However, ultimately they lack the discipline to work for good shots and play grind 'em out defense and their record shows it.
