Kilted Rat

Is it wrong that I just tuned into the Hamline video feed and heard

"Fredricksen stuck on by Weiner at the top of the key"
and
"Weiner in the circle and back out again."

and found it to be hilarious?
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

GAC wins 83-48 I believe.

Be sure to check the box score. It holds a little surprise :)

KR - Thanks for the PM.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Knights win easy over St. Mary's. Somebody on here recently claimed Big Pun A.K.A Terrence Smith to be a good player. Wow are you WRONG! He is god awful, out of shape and is better suited on an offensive line than he is on a basketball court. Johnson scores 17, Drake 11 and Fork in double figures as well. St. Mary's got no closer than nine in the second half and Carleton led by 20+ by the end.

Idiot of the night award goes to St. Mary's Dan Cormier. Less than 30 ticks to go and SMU down 20, Johnson gets in a jump ball situation on the floor and is tangled with an SMU player, Cormier darts from the bench out onto the court like there is a bench-clearing brawl about to ensue when it was really no big deal. He gets tossed from the game in one of the most idiotic displays I've ever seen. Also, I noticed a SMU mom yelling at Jake Phillips in the second half to the tune of "overrated." First of all, Carleton is barely ranked if "others receiving votes" counts. Second of all, SMU was down 15 at the time. What are you thinking yelling that?!

The streak goes to 15 and will likely last until the MIAC Championship at UST!

90-84 BU with :43 left...CAR wins so both teams are in...Frederickson with 21 and played really well

Haven't seen the box score yet, but unofficial stats:
25 min, 0 points, 3 fouls, 17 turnovers, and 11 gallons of sweat lost during the game and warmups

Frustration on behalf of the young Cards?? They choked down the stretch going from outright second at one point to plummeting back near the cellar. I think the Cards will be back next year and could challenge for a playoff spot again.

The bandwagon rolls on. Johnnies with a convincing win tonight at beautiful Ernie W. Anderson court. Nice to have more than 5 rows of bleachers (although some places don't need that many ;) ). Thanks for the check Ernie.
Was impressed by the solid post play of young Mr. Fogt. A few blocks and good work on the boards. As usual, SJU scores by committee.
All aboard!
Most interesting program note: Augsburg Senior Night honors lone senior on the squad, Aaron Benesh, who finished his last season at Augsburg after transferring from UW Madison last year. Congratulations and good luck to Mr. Benesh.

A couple of random thoughts before the in-depth   ;D analysis tomorrow -

TH4L  - so did you exchange your UST diploma for a Carleton degree?   ;)

Carleton's playing awfully well right now.  I think they would make any team look bad. I know Kalland has got some type of substitution chart, but  dang -   Phillips plays all 40 minutes in a blowout??

I was at the Bethel Hamline game & haven't seen the boxscore yet.  However, I might have to change my vote for the 6th man of the year award.  If the award is based strictly on scoring, I might have to switch from GAC's Wittwer to Bethel's Matt Fredrickson.  Like all good scorers, the dude has absolutely no conscience!!

Late in the 2nd half he hits a fast break trey, when he might have been better advised to pull the ball back out.  He then follows up with a couple of contested jumpers in the lane.  Then just to show he isn't just all about the offense, he played fairly solid D on the Pipes' Joe Smock who was started to heat up from downtown in the 2nd half.

Hinrichs was an unsung hero in the 2nd half & hit some huge free throws down the stretch.  I think he went 5-6 from the FT line.  Meadowcroft played well until he fouled out  & I would guess he ended up with over 20 points.

The Royals did a decent job of keeping DeRock in check & he didn't have a lot of touches.  It was nice to see Ryan Montgomery have a solid game for the Pipers. He's been a soldier & paid his dues for Hamline.

This young Hamline team needs to learn how to be ready from the jump, rather than halfway through the 2nd half.   I think they expend too much energy trying to get back in their games.  They were down much of the first half in the game against SMU last week & stormed back to win.  Then on Saturday they were down 18 points against the Johnnies only to lose by 4, 101-97.  Tonight was no different & at one point they were down by 19 points, to come back & lose 96-89.

THFL:

So you can't be a good player if your overweight, or better suited for football?  Terrance had a bad night tonight, does that really make him a bad player?  He averages 12 points a game, went 7-8 and had 19 on Sat. against, Ike.  Or do you think Ike is a terrible player too, obviously he can't be considered better than Big T after watching them play head to head.

Next year for the Cards, same old story for the past 20 years.  Nice coaching down the stretch for the Cards.

SJU vs. AUG: SIMILARITIES BETWEEN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL
1.Johnnies win.
2.Guest appearance by Finsleft (although Fins waives his appearance fee for football)
3.Johnnies score early and often.
4.SOLID Johnnie D.
5.Mucho minutes by the scrubs in the 2nd half, yet SJU continues the roll.
6.SJU fans outnumber the opponents fans, even on the road.
7.TDT MIA.

SJU vs. AUG: DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL
1.No Stiftungsfest burgers.
2.No pre-game Hamm's.
3.No halftime Hamm's.
4.No post-game Hamm's (although I'm enjoying a refreshingly cold Hamm's at the moment in the comfort of the porch hammock at the Finsleft Beachfront Bungalow).
