Here's a  "tale of the tape" from TitanQ, a poster on the CCIW board regarding tonight's UST/NC game -

The game tonight looks dead even on paper and when that is the case, the edge usually goes to the home team.  Here's hoping NCC can get it done in a tough draw tonight.

(Of course I would add from a MIAC perspective - here's hoping the Tommies git er done!)

Local - Dan Wheeler of Bloom. Jefferson was a classmate of SJU's Matt Ohme.  During the early 2000s' Bloomington Jefferson had a real nice run of talent & teams. Trent Tucker or Sarah Halvorsen could probably fill us in on where & why all the players ended up where they did – Brent (?) Augustine, Jon (?) Lien, Brian Sykora, John Vaudreuil (sp), (UMD) etc.   Wheeler has got a younger brother Steve, who is a senior this year & could be a nice MIAC addition next year.

Dan Wheeler actually took a long look at CAR he wanted to go to a school that was very good in academics....Brent Augustine went to university of wisconsin...jon lien went to gustavus and for some reason was cut this year im trying to figure out what that coach was smoking to cut a player like him he is a solid player that could have provided more than a couple players i saw out on the court the couple times i saw the gusties play...sykora was up at the U of M for football and then transfered...that was a great team they had at jefferson

Is anyone going to be webcasting the games tonight? I'll be stuck in the office and could use score updates with some details as I await phone calls from coaches...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Willy - this should be the link to the NC radio station that will be broadcasting the UST/NC game tonight.  If not, go to the NC website.

Drake - I'll be at work, with coworkers all around. Besides, I've already been yelled at once for illegally downloading the Real Player thingy so I could listen...I don't want to try it again until next year :)

In that case then, unless someone else is at home listening you'll have to sift through the usual suspects' serpentine, regurgitative posts tomorrow to find out what really happened.  ;)

But with the re-emergence of Kneez & AK47, you might not have to wade through as much. :)

Hey guys!! I know everyone is glad to see I'm back on the board  :D   Sounds like a great title game on Saturday. I wish i could have been there to see it.

I was just looking at the end of the year awards and i realize that i may be a few days old on this topic but how did Keating get in the All-Defensive team and IKE get snubbed. I thought for sure it would be Sweeney and Ike. Am I missing the boat or did Keating actually play defense sometime this year??  ;)

Watchmen - As I've said before, Ike is atrocious at D. However, that fact is often overshadowed by his shot blocking ability. Coaches realize this, even if Loco can't with his boxscore analysis. I'll be interested to see if he gets dominated in the post against bigger, stronger competition tonight as he did earlier in the year against the WIAC.

As for Keating...I have a theory about this. It's the coaches way of saying "Well Mike, you sucked this year but we don't want to make you seem completely overrated. We'll throw you this bone so you aren't completely shut out after coming in to MVP hype just in case you regain your form next year."

I mean, 17 and 8 (or so) at D2 can't be a complete fluke, right? Um, right guys? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

Braier sounds like a Paul Henrichs-type with more hyper-agression and a bit more of a Forkrud build. In the event UST gets past NC, I think Shimek/Keating can contain him enough for a "W" (notice I am not saying "shut him down")

Good luck with that....

I played highschool against both Keating and Rosefelt, and I guarantee you that Braier is ten times better then either of them.  Braier is like a Dennis Rodman with a brain.  He doesn't Understand the word Can't.  He's a fricking beast.  Keating wouldn't be able to Stop Braier if he had 10 fouls to give.  I hope thats when St. Thomas thinks if they make it, because it should be one easy second round win for us then....assuming you get my North Central tonight.

I'll be in the stands for the game tonight, hope to see a good one and reaffirm my belief that LU should win fairly easily Saturday night, but I'll be waiting to be suprised.

larry-I doubt Braier is 10 times better than Rosefelt or Keating but I guess since you played high school against them you must know what you are talking about. ;)
