PI - The Osceola Braves of 'Sconny fame?

It might be advantagous for PI to know the proper nickname of the high school his new paper would be covering, WW;D While Braves is close, Osceola favors the more regal moniker of Chieftains. They were a semi rival from my high school days, not to mention one of the speed bumps on my Frosh teams descent to glory this past season. Plus, its Sconnie, so Id have to call you on it or AK47 would hound me. You actually had an OHS alum play for your Gusties a few years back, Willy. Guy by the name of Marc Beckmann spent a year on the JV in 01-02.

how do you get different pictures than the ones they offer for your profile picture?

Below where it offers you pictures for your profile, there is an option that says "I have my own" and has a space for a url. Find a picture you want on the internet, and right click on it. Choose to open it in a new window or tab, and then copy the url that is in the location box. Paste it in the line that is offered for "I have my own", and save it. Should give you that pic of Ryan Seacrest youve been lookin to beef up your profile with  ;).

bumknees - You always ruin my fun. I was hoping to get PI fired after one day on the job with that flub :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Flub? Me, no way. I never mentioned high school, I just said baseball.

The Osceola Braves are the town baseball team coached by 100-year-old Ken Staples, who used to coach for the Twins at some level. Juan Berenguer used to pitch for them after he retired from baseball as well.

C'mon guys, do your homework before you call me out. Oh yeah, I just did that to Pat.

Anyone have a heads up of who's being recruited for St. Johns? Word is, the new Assistant has designs on recruits.....

localcoach

bigmouth - what does that mean  ???  "designs on recruits"

I've heard a lot of great things about the new assistant for SJU.  It sounds like he will be another young enthusiastic go-getter, similar to current MIAC assistants like John Mahal at St. Olaf, and Jeremy Tiers at Hamline.

I have nothing else new to offer in the way of recruiting scuttlebut.  Sorry Drake!

I doubt if we will see a big player attend SJU next year. If the kid has dreams of playing 4 years in the MIAC SJU isn't the place for him. With everyone but one major contributor returning from last years team I would be very suprised to see a big name sign with the Johnnies. Does anyone else think this new assistant could be the next Johnnies head coach? Or will that be reserved for someone else?

Local Coach, I only meant the new assistant coach is quite enthusiastic and sounds like he has some excitement towards recruiting......javascript:replaceText('%20:)',%20document.postmodify.message);

I would think it would be premature to annoint Mr. McKenzie as the heir apparent to Coach Smith. Others who have followed the league longer would be in a better position to discuss this, but I would think Mike Trewick would factor into the equation somewhere.

One thing I have learned is "never say never". ;D

This just in...SJU is now designing robots that are to be the future of basketball...they will first test the robots in the MIAC before placing them at the d-1 level and even the NBA...the first robot to play in a game is to be named Dubi Ebi and he will be programed to score 21.6 pts a game and pull down an ave. of .8 rebs a game "just to give OAS something to complain about these remarkable robots" and 7.2 ast a game and 4.1 steals and .7 turnovers a game....these robots will be fueled by tripple burgers

I believe bigmouth was refering to the article published in todays St. Cloud Times which quoted coach Smith as saying that Mackenzie was talking to him about recruiting and Smith said Mackenzie's ideas "wore him out".

As usual, nothing really to add, but I may be making a change of scenary over the next month. Olivia to Osceola. Writer to Editor. Closer to home. The boss man is a Bethel grad. We could have some heated battles come next February if I sign.

Pat - Based on this post & others you've recently made, I take it you're semi-serious about moving back west?
