shocker

Willy, Willy, Willy.....lets not be so quick to forget that MVP caliber season you put up a few years back. Maybe this guy just didn't have the plantar fasciitis to mask his athletic ability as you did.

What a year in the MIAC it will be.

Keating for All-America campaign starts now. You with me, Willy?

B34 - you are right about the missing quotent in my Moss = Foster equation was talent.  But Moss has lost a couple of steps so I'm not too far off.  I saw Hamline play several times last year and at times Foster can really dominate.  Then a call doesn't go his way or he thinks its more important to return a hip check on a box out than it is to actually get the rebound and his game spirals out of control.  I've seen him play really well then I've seen him get tossed from a gym after he was tossed (or fouled out I can't remember) from a game.

The real Moss comparison is that he seemed to view himself as a leader on the team.  I don't know if he is or if others share the same view, but someone that volatile cannot be a leader on your team and if he is then he has the power to drag everyone down.

BETHEL34

I hear you...Foster is just a very cheap player and he bugs the crap out of me.  So my view of him is very skewed.  But looking at him as a player or an outsider, he does have some talent and can be tough at times.  But all the crap and negativity he causes, doesn't make him worth having on your team in my books.  Specially since he thinks he is Gods gift to basketball.  I would be very suprised if he had to many players that actually look up to him, or look at him as a leader.  But I have never played with him only against him so I could be way off.

Anyways, I was just giving you a hard time. ;D

QuoteTheir biggest hurdle to overcome is not letting Foster become a distraction, he is the Randy Moss of this team.

Bethelguy – Foster??  The "RANDY MOSS" of his team??  You have to be good to be compared to Randy Moss don't you?? :-\  I would say he is more of the "AJ Pierzynski" of his team, hate playing against him...hate playing with him.

i would compare him to bill romanowski in his final years of his football career because he thought he was good but he sucked and the only way he could be good was by being cheap and cheating

If the pimp fur coat he was wearing at the 2006 MIAC championship game was any indication, I'd say dangerous.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Foster is a loose cannon.  He can be a tough matchup at times, but when he loses his head he's done.  If he has matured Hamline could be tough this year.  DeRock and Thrasher now have a year's experience, this makes a huge difference coming in to this season.  Thrasher can score, if you look at his stats he averaged 12.6 pts per in only 26 min a game. I would expect him to get more touches this year.

Word from Tommie camp is they are looking awfully good thus far and Keating's hip seems to be feeling pretty good.

I wouldn't be suprised if the Pipers finished somewhere in the top 3 in the league ( That meaning they will get third). They have solid players and it sounds like they got some talented recruits so who knows maybe it will be a three team race for the title. ;D

I just can't see Hamline finishing in the top 3..... I look over to Gustavus, Thomas, and John's for that.  Even though Gustavus is having a down year this year, they still have the players and experience to finish top 3.  Hamline will have a solid year and will be a playoff team, but they still may be too young to finish top 3.

So the fact that Hamline's top two scorers from last year, DeRock and Thrasher, were freshman last year and are now sophmores means they don't have experience. Although they have DeRock and Thrasher back they only have three seniors, Foster, Weiner and Babcock. I think Ham-bone just needs a couple freshman to step up and they could be a very hard team to beat.

thats true, but the fact of the matter is.....Foster is too inconsistant, and weiner loses his head if a fan says one word to him and then he is thrown off of his game. But your right Hamline could have a solid year.
