Keating had 26, 13 and 5 in just 26 minutes! How does that taste WW??

When Keatnig came out, he had 3 pts and 1 board LESS than the entire SMU team.  He played an incredible game, on both ends of the court,

I remember one guy, who most Tommies would agree sucks, putting up a double-double on the road against the best team in the nation. Every dog has his day, right? :)

Nites - I had just done the math myself! For those of you scoring at home, Olson now had 4 rebounds in 131 minutes. Impressive stuff. I'm pretty sure he's now locked up his All-American boxer-outer status   :-\

*For what it's worth, I received a call and an email from former Gusties (who don't follow the boards) pointing me to Olson's stat line against Carthage. That's just a historic performance.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

That's impressive stuff!  It has to be tough to do.  He must really work at it in practice by running the other way every time the ball goes up or gets near him! :D

Just kidding... but you'd think he'd at get a rebound or two by accident.

I don't know if the ACC could dominate the "big" 10 anymore than they did.  Purdue won, was that it?

Gophers put on quite the show last night, I like hearing them get boooooed!  haha.

Ohio state will be good this year, just got to hang on to those leads.

Back to MIAC action, proud of the Cobbs to erase a 19 pt deficit to take a momentary lead last night against SJU.  But just like OSU, Cobbs gotta hang onto the lead and win those close games.

shocker

Keating. All-America. Mark it dude. Based on last night, first maybe second team if the usual "east coast bias" prevails. He's a force of nature, and by all accounts the greatest dude who ever lived. Did you know his family crest is a picture of a barracuda eating Neil Armstrong? That's a heritage.

Goooooooooooooooooooo Gophers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took in the SJU/CORD game last night. A disturbing theme resurfaced in the game. The Johnnies took their foot off the gas late in the first half. The J's were up 19 with two minutes left in the half. They took the lead in part with 65% shooting from the field. They ran their offense well, got open looks and hit shots. The last two minutes of the half they allowed the Cobbs to score 7 straight points. This not only cut the lead, but in my opinion also gave the cobbs life.

Lieser shot the ball well. Ohme had 8 assists in the first half! Everything clicked for the Johnnies. Linz's play, along with Dyshaw's shooting were the only thing that kept the game close.

The second half was a different story. The J's scored 10 points in the first 10 minutes! Give CORD credit they came out of the locker room with way more intensity than the J's did. They outscored them 22-10 in the first ten minutes. The Cobbs to a man out rebounded and out hustled the Johnnies. One of the few bright spots was the defense Brink played on Linz. He got significant help with double teams whenever Linz touched the ball down low. Linz only scored 6 points in the second half, 2 from the field. this seemed to be a much better match up for the J's. It looked like S. Schafer had his hands full wirth him. When he was in.

A combination of the J's defense stiffening, some timely misses by the Cobbs allowed the J's to build a lead. The Johnnies also got  a couple of second chances getting O-rebounds off missed FT.

The Cobb's are going to surprise some people this year. I do think the will need to develop a compliment to Linz inside though. They will also have to make the most of their possessions.

If your a J fan it was a win. They need to develop the killer mentality though! They can't let a team like CORD hang around. Interesting lineup that finished the game for the J's: Foght, Brink, Westman, Lieser & Ohme. I thought Ohme had his best (most complete) game last night.

Very nice sumander!

I wasn't able to get to the game, other than linz who stands out for the cobbers offensively/defensively.  You don't have to answer the defensively part, because we are getting outscored every game!

Cnation - Citterman shot the ball better in the second half. I think the two young posts they have (Baldwin, E. Johnson) are going to be good. Baldwin needs playing time at this level and Johnson needs to bulk up. He has good skills, but I don't think he was prepared for how physical things get inside

From Shooter:
QuoteHamline men's basketball coach Barry Wohler has hired former Gophers Zeb Howell and Cookie Holmes, as well as Lance Berwald and Jamison Rustoven, for his staff.

Old news, but am I the only one who has never heard any of these four names?
