Gusties win in a squeaker 77-76?  I got too excited to write down the score.  Wittwer was the man - scores 10 straight FTs .   Excellent ball by both clubs.

Half time Westman hits 3 treys in the last minute, the knights can only answer 2 of them. 34-30 at the half!

Time to reload on the Miller Lites! ;D

Unlikely heroes for the Gusties, Jesse Van Sickle (huge 2nd half & was playing big minutes during crunch time), Kane Sivesind & Tyler kramer keep holding it down until Wittwer starts to exerts his influence on both ends of the court.  Wittwer & Mcroft had a nice duel in the 2nd half, with Meadowcroft  hitting a huge 3 to pull the Royals within a couple.  Then, Wittwer comes back & scores on the opposite end.

Sowden is almost the goat turning the ball over twice in the last minute but makes a huge stop & picks up the defensive rebound with 2 seconds to go to close out the game.

Beware of Bethel - this team is starting to put it together offensively  & defensively.  Moberg did a great job of sealing the smaller Gusties using his body to score.    Laugen is getting tougher & tougher with each passing game & Meadowcroft was effective inside & out.

Unofficial stats

Wittwer - 21 pts, 2-3 blocks, 6-7 boards, 2-3 steals
Van Sickle - 9 pts

Madson 11pts
Mcroft - 18pts
Moberg - 18 pts

Sounded like an ugly first half! Z. Johnson 2-7 from the field!

Bain for MVP.
14 pts, 10 rebs, 6 blocks, 4 assists, 2 steals.

Banick, Norberg, Hunter, Bergstrom all in double figures.

Some guy named Erik Johnson (not the tight end) had 17 boards for the Cobbers. Linz leads the Cobbers with 16. Cobbers 26 TOs. Oles 13 TOs.

Sum - His photo is now posted on the board.   ;)  And actually, Johnson is a JC transfer - he's a junior.

I'm listening to the Carl broadcast & it sounds like S. Schafer is toast now & Mr. Brink has rightfully replaced him.   Now he just dogged out Jason Fogt. I like this guy!
