Ah Willy, you're far too sensitive. I think the stress of witnessing your gusties playing like a bunch of powder puffs has you really on edge. Now that I've accurately defined their type of play, just watch them come out and give the all-american effort against the Tommies.

Doesn't matter though UST will win it no matter what effort the goldy gusties bring.

Me thinking even the Koz will knock 'em off this year....provided the Koz doesn't show!!!

;)

I played your game, now let's see if you'll play mine. Who's your buddy at GAC that you feel has been unfairly cut that's made you ride Hanson so hard? And who's your buddy now seeing time at Olaf that you're off the anti-Koz bandwagon so quickly?  :-*

tuber - None of us here have answers, but most are willing to share our thoughts anyway :) Kaus is talented, but flawed. He's extremely athletic and an above-average shooter, but he doesn't bring much else to the table. He still appears to get lost easily on defense and his passing has, at times, been erratic. At 5-6ish, those are hard things to overcome and still be effective. His scoring shows up in the box score — sometimes to the tune of 24, as you mentioned — but the other stuff typically doesn't.

When their college decisions were made, I was told by someone who knew them both quite well that the SJU Kaus would have been a better fit at GAC and vice-versa. It seems this may be being played out to the bitter end for both.

For all of Kramer's flaws, he's steady and realiable if not as explosive. I'm sure that's something Hanson appreciates in the offense he runs.

I'm not sure what to make of DesLauriers right now either. He got very little time to start the year, then none, and is now getting some clock again. He looked promising last year as a frosh, but still doesn't seem quite comfortable.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Hanson continue tweaking with the rotation if things remain murky, meaning Kaus could get another shot.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

My we are geting a bit testy aren't we?

I have no basketball connections at GAC or STO and no one's riding Hanson. I'm sure he's coaching as he always has. He just doesn't appear to have the mix or chemistry of players that have delivered for him in the past. It's not just my take but there's quite a number of folks that share the same feeling about the Gusties lack of toughness and productivity.

Where am I going soft on Koz? Read what I wrote...STO "may knock 'em off this year, PROVIDED KOZ DOESN'T SHOW." Does that come off that I'm soft on Koz? I don't think so.

Here I give you a compliment about acknowledging that you should show the current Gusties how to play defense and play tough and you bust my Buckeyes! Would  it be more comfortable for you if I didn't make any comments about GAC? I also make comments about BU. Should I cease with that as well? The Auggies are young, but greatly improved...as compared to past years; Your favorite coach, Wohler, has done a good job of recruiting, but they're very inconsistent and blow big leads. Speaking of Wohler, you bust his Buckeyes, but that's OK? But you just don't want me ripping Hanson, right? Which I'm not by the way because as I stated, he apparently isn't enjoying the talent he had when you played.

The two big knockers (UST & SJU) are seemingly heads and shoulders better than everyone else right now and while that may change, they have great leadership from their seniors that other teams do not.

Happy New Year WILLIE!. I was going to diligently stick with my new year's resolution and not write/make comments on this board anymore......but I broke down and now I'm forced to retreat and soak......yes, my Buckeyes. And now given that, and not wanting or needing to feel that I have to defend myself each and every time to you, I will use this as my official notice that "it's been real" and I wish you well.

funbb - Don't leave! I'm used to being the instigator and you've got me on the defensive.

But, I've tried to answer the questions as best as I can, now being an outsider looking in. If I get some digs in while I do so, all the better :)

UST_LBOW

Tonight should be a good game between UST and GAC.

J-term really sucks though.  The crowds are small with not many students and it takes away from the atmosphere of the game.  It's too bad more students don't stick around, but........

Dang - It's a sad day in MIAC Posting Up land.  Funbballer has taken his trippleburger (handpattied by CMob), acerbic wit & keyboard & left the building.  On the other hand, he did leave us with Koz... ;)

Happy trails Funbb – we'll leave a light on for you if you decide to come back.

I think fear may be causing Funbballer to depart.  No doubt he is mortified by the possibility that the Oles might actually make the playoffs given that they currently stand in 5th place in the standings.    :o

Good point but if I recall, last year in early February it looked like both the Birds & Oles had a shot at making the playoffs, & they both ended up stumbling toward the finish line.  But far be it from me to dash water on someone's "pursuit of happyness." We all need those dreams to keep our chestnuts, or should I say buckeyes warm by the winter fire.   ;)

I'll jump out there and say Hamline is my biggest disappointment. After last years finish and having their two top scoring threats back I predicted them top 4 in the league at the start of the year.
