I think Voj has a pretty good handle on the Foster  & Lieser call.  However, in both cases, I guess the calls should have been awarded to the offensive player.  The refs were at least consistent & that's all one can really hope for.

Apparently the refs were  consistently not calling "palming" on any of the guards either - SJU or HAM.

ALL CONFERENCE
Ike, schnettler, keating, westman, liesure, brink, linz, conboy, z. johnson, derock

COY
if either SJU or UST goes undefeated in conference that coach deserves it but right now i pick (for a tie) both augsburg coach and st. olafs because both are way ahead of where i expected them to be!

POY
i hate to say it but i think IKE deserves it

6th man
Brink....as i predicted in the preseason

All freshy??  i really have no idea sorry

defensive
roosevelt, brink, strom, weiner, linz

surprising- has to be augsubrg
reg. season champs- split between tommies and johhnies each with 1 loss
sleeper...im gunna stick with hamline, now that everyone has pretty much forgot about them, they are sleepers now and if they can sneak into playoffs they are dangerous!!!

Good job SJ4life!  I'll add your picks to the rest.

sju4life,

Maybe one reason your boy isn't getting any respect is you have spelled his name wrong about a half dozen times on this board. If you cared enough, you'd know his name was Lieser and not liesure, although I'm sure you do know and maybe Johnnies just can't spell. :P Had to comment on it, it was annoying and it brings out the journalist in me. Heck, I even went to the SJU website to double check it.

Are you sure it was palming?  Maybe the guards went to the same summer camp as Jake Phillips.   :)

Nites - that's too funny!  I'm guessing Lieser & Westman must have worked with
Phillips at the same camp. (The other funny, peculiar thing is that you can only see the photo of Phillips when you're logged in.)

When the Pipe guards try that move,  they at least look a bit more polished.  DeRock might be having a down year, but he's still got one of the nastiest, inside-outside (palming) dribbles in the league.

I'm still working on my mid-season "Poster's Polls Picks", but as I was looking through the various choices, one player's name kept popping up – Macalester's Jesse Hollander.  If he continues to play as he has, this kid's name will probably be on the coaches' All Defensive team.

Obviously, Macalester is one of the early "feel-good stories "of the season, & the last time the Scots made this kind of splash  :-* , they had another dynamic PG – Erik Jackson.  But Mac wouldn't be enjoying this success without the yeoman like work Hollander has been doing under the boards.  Jesse Hollander is only 6-3, yet he's currently sitting atop the offensive rebounding leader board at 3.67/rbg, tied for 5th for defensive rebounds per game, & is in 3rd place overall averaging 8.2/rbg.  In addition, he often draws the opposing team's top post player to defend, & has more than held his own.

I'll admit, the "stylish substance" of the Scots led by Abe W., their fearless little floor general first attracted me (along with the farewell tour free admission); but the hard work, leadership, enthusiasm & effort of Jesse Hollander has certainly made a fan out of me this year.  Let me go hug a tree!  :D

I noticed that too.  What did I do wrong?  I used the attachment feature (which doesn't allow a preview).  I'll try it again with this post to see if the same thing happens.

I'm not technologically savvy enough to help you out, but I'm thinking it's one of two things:  One, there's a proprietary feature in the D3sports software that "reads" the photo as being proprietary so it makes it "registered poster" accessible only. Sorta like the "pickem boards" for football during the football season.  You can only view the board if you're logged in.

Or 2) there's something similar at Carleton causing the glitch.  On occasion in the past I've had photos I couldn't link to, but never something like this.

BTW, we need your mid-season picks.  Danke.

I think I sorta have it figured out.  I enlarged the photo & realized you're using a D3sports photo which are password protected.  If you tried a photo from another site it would probably work.

Like this:

Has anyone ever wondered..."Hmm, Willem Dafoe, Sam Wiener. Any resemblance?

Oh, well.  I guess I should label the post "For Logged In Posters Only."   I'll get to those later this afternoon if that's not too late.  I'll have to make sure I check all of the name spellings so I don't incur the wrath of the Board journalists (e.g., TH4Life)!   ;)

Let's see how the Augsburg alum's picture turns out.  By the way, he is really a terrific NBA player.  He does all of the little things that don't show up in the box score.

Drake-

You are totally right about Hollander...I saw Mac play for thge first time this year last night against Carleton...Hollander is the most aggressive rebounder mac has on both ends of the floor, he does all the dirty work, and he is the emotional and vocal leader for the Scots...he is definitely the heart and soul of the team and they will be losing more than just a good rebounder when he graduates this year
