All in good fun.  Speaking of which, the UST/SJU game tonight ought to be a good one.  For some reason, I think the Johnnies may come out a bit tight.   I would probably be firmly on their bandwagon for the game if they hadn't stumbled in Florida.  I don't know what happened down there, but it made me question whether or not they have the mental toughness to win the MIAC crown.  They are certainly capable, and I think they have the most depth of any team in the league.  We'll see what happens tonight.

Why did Brink get the start against MAC?  Will he start again tonight? 

I was actually intrigued by the possibilty of Brink matching up on Schnettler.  He's a bigger scoring threat than Keating and Brink's length could make it difficult for Schnettler to get the trey off.  Do you think Brink might get matched up on him?

SJU4LIFE, you are 100% correct. Brink is the only Johnnie that can match up on Keating. S.Schafer is too slow afoot. I think Lieser has to guard Schnettler. This may take away from his (lieser's) production on the offensive end though.

Another question, can Robinson lock down Westman?

You know Ike is going to get his points. The J's need to win the rest of the skirmishes in order to win the battle!

I like the big bodies SJU can throw at Ike and the athletes it can run at Schnettler — a 6-5 Adam TeBrake chased him off picks and didn't allow him any good looks for 30 minutes in the second game last year — but Keating will be a mismatch. The Schafer studs are too slow and uncoordinated and Westman is too skinny. Keating's favorite/only move in the post is to lower his shoulder, as best as I can tell. GAC took 2 charges from this. This is the key matchup in tonight's game.

I don't believe I've seen this Brink character play, but he seems to be getting a lot of pub on here. Tonight may be his chance to show all the chatter is warranted. If he gets blown up, I've got to imagine Doble steps ahead as the favorite for the 6th Man Award.

Anyone seen Carleton play lately? Any predictions for the GAC game tonight?

The UST-SJU game tonight will be a sweet game.  It's always fun to play up at SJU, especially when you win on the road, which is exactly what UST will do tonight.

The big 3 will be superb and Lonnie has been redonkulous lately and I would expect it to continue. 

The biggest factor tonight will be how Lonnie and Dwyer play.  If they keep playing the way they have been UST will be triumphant.  Their also needs to be somebody off the bench that comes and gives them a spark, BJ, McCoy, Tuma, Shimek, Dan Grant. One of those guys needs to come in and give some good minutes.

Another factor will be fouls.  I'm sure the UST coaching staff has reminded Keats and Ike how important it is to not commit dumb fouls.

These kinds of games make playing worth it, should be fun.

I agree.  MIA on the eve of the MIAC's most anticipated matchup of the season.  Perhaps, he is on route to the game.  I wonder how many of our illustrious posters will actually be attending?
