Played some CSC basketball yesterday at Hamline. It was the first time I have ever been in Hamline's fieldhouse. Just wondering, but that has to be the oldest bball arena in the MIAC, is that correct? It has a lot of character, the banners from the 40's and 50's are pretty cool.

i also played yesterday...luckly i got to play on their court instead of the field house...i love that gym and i think it would be a great atmosphere for a big game...actually it is a great atmosphere i watched a sell out high school basketball game there a couple years ago...good times

good to see the csc is loaded with miac converstationalists.  add ust_lbow and myself to the csc players/discussion board posters list.

i think Hamline would serve a tourney well, although the locker rooms need some serious air freshener

Oh, and thanks for the texts, Sumander. I absolutely LOVED feeling my phone vibrate every 3 minutes with more info about how on fire the Js were  :-[

Willy, you don't know how bad I wanted to call you and give you the play by play! ;D

Sumander- Now that gas is under 2 bucks, we'll keep putting the hi-test in the tank. Nice monkey stomp on Saturday! The Bandwagon is rolling!

Fins, Sounds like a plan! Who is going to drive the bandwagon on Wednesday night to BET, ROR? We need someone with broad shoulders to handle all that responsibility.

Sumander

I think I am up to the task.  Who else will be coming on board?

ROR, That would be great! Not sure who else will be onboard, Check with Fins. He usually leaves the keys in the ashtray and the J Buffett cd's cued up.

Would be great to see a nice contingent of Red at the Royals gym on Wednesday night. J's can make another statement to the league with a road win at BET. The Royal's have won 7 straight games!

UST vs. MAC = MAC getting destroyed.

This game was absolute Clown Shoes.  I'm not sure which was worse, the MAC fans looking like those little trolls with the orange hair or the MAC players playing.  The fans do have enthusiasm, something UST sorely lacks.  The MAC team just did not play all that well, bad shots, turnovers.   Could be good UST defense.  Liddell sure does get his 3 point shots up in a hurry.

Keating and Ike dominated.  Keating was bringing it from the tip, you could see it right away, pulling down nasty one armed rebounds.  Ike was running the floor and making aggressive post moves on Conboy.

The only thing that saved this game from being an even higher score was Schnettler.  He was 2-8 on 3's and almost all were uncontested.  Usually he would be 6-8 and this game would have been even more of a blowout.

Too bad to see MAC's gym getting torn down, I always liked playing there with the fans right in your face.

Snowman ~ what is csc?

CSC = College of St. Catherine's

Hamline is the birthplace of Intercollegiate basketball. The Piper men's and women's basketball programs and volleyball team have called the historic Hutton Arena their home since the facility first opened in 1937.

I remember watching some great Section 3 basketball games there when I believe it was 2 or 3 classes in the late 90's. CDH, STA, Simley, Highland Park among others. It was a packed house, you couldn't get a seat.

The floor in the fieldhouse has given the school fits. Besides that it ain't bad.

the CSC i was reffering to is Cities Sports Connection...which has many different rec leagues for many different sports

on a side note....former gustie espenson gets T'd up during the eden prairie rosemount high school game which triggered a rosemount rally to over come a 9 point lead EP had...im not sure how he was on the court when he played but he is a very arrogant and cocky coach

Just a quick comment about Espo - perhaps the T was uncalled for in the HS game the other day, but he's a little like UST'S Sean Sweeney.  They've both got the fire & intensity that makes their teammates want to succeed.  Sometime that burst of emotion can backfire, as apparently it did the other day with Espenson. I only saw him from a distance, but I always respected Espenson's desire to win.  And maybe this year's version of the Gusties could use a little more of that spark?

if basketball then:
W-L ratio for ???
the first one seems high for a shooting percentage, unless maybe free throws.

if other then..
blood alcohol levels?

I'll go with the Winning percentage for the MIAC's 6th place team.

Nope.  Snowman was heading in the right direction (and it isn't the blood alcohol level of those riding in the finsleft Bandwagon).

UST LBow's field goal percentage? The MIAC web site says he was .628 in 04-05 and .588 in 05-06. Another blood is .789 this year. Just missed each three by a single digit.

Re: My prior comment about Hamline's arena being the oldest and most historic.

There was just an article in the StarTribune about how the last games in Macalaster's fieldhouse will be played this weekend. Macs was built in 1924. Construction on a new complex will begin in a few weeks.

Very clever, PI!  Pretty damn close with the numbers too.  :)   However, think negative stat instead.

You were heading there with your first guess.  Not a team number.
