Halftime notes from Saint Thomas:

The UST students section attempted once to mimic BU's 3rd down defense chant, suprisingly SJU didn't hit a three  :)

Freebird, thanks for stopping by and saying hi on Sat.  Good line.  I thought that cheer was pretty weak and lacking in originality.  I must say I found all the Tommies with Nebraska tattoos amusing.

ROR , Good to see you on Saturday! Maybe you will have to drive the bandwagon this saturday!

Summander, good to see you as well.  Not sure I'm the best candidate for bandwagon driver.  Been a while since I've witnessed a Johnnies victory over the Tomcats.  I do intend to be on board Saturday.  Love the new avatar.

SJU was terrible on offense while UST did a good job on D w/ pressure on SJU's shooters.  Schafer was the only one that played with any balls!
It was my only MIAC game this year and I thought both teams played poorly.

I think Ohme really played like he wanted to win the game as well as C. Schafer. The rest of the Johnnies seemed to be out there and playing not to lose.

If that was your first and only game of the year then you picked a good one to wait for!! ;)

Faunch, good to see you.  I agree with watchman.  I think Ohme played with a lot of heart.  Went to the hoop hard many times.

TDT,

Are you getting bored at your SJU janitorial job?  When did you start following basketball?

I have it on good authority that TDT is line for a promotion to head up campus security at SJU.  Should make the Stiffyfests a lot more fun. ;D

Likewise, it was nice to catch up and see you again.  I must agree, the Nebraska tattoos were funny

Saturday:
UST: 31 with a light wintry mix (60% chance)
SJU: 29 with light snow (70% chance)

All in all, about what it is every year.

CMob, I will triple it up if you will. I'll bring some culinary delight for everyone to share as well.

ROR-

When I spotted you, I was up in the media box and you were backing into the Tommie faithful with the N tattoos to get a shot.  Scooting over to say hi was impossible.  Hopefully this Saturday!

Anybody putting money on a OLE at GAC final??

Go Scots!

Dunkmachine

nebraska tattoos = very funny

Jon Bain = still is a poor basketball player

Ole upset over Bethel = caused by the auggies breaking Bethel's spirit and confidence going into the playoffs.  The Oles should be thanking Grant Hemmingsen for nailing that 3 with no time in regulation :)

I was just trying to blend in.   ;D

I'm hoping for Ole at SJU.   ;)

I think the Tattoos win the award for the best mockery of the year. I've seen a couple signs but nothing compares to the tatts. Props to the UST students on the one. I expect we will see more of them this coming Saturday. Sorry Willy, the Johnnies have a date with UST Saturday and I don't see GAC breaking those plans.

Just be careful with those signs and stuff.  The Carleton ADMIN swiped my "BAQUERO:  SPANISH FOR BRICK" sign during the first round of the playoffs a few years back.  I thought it was funny although I guess some of them found it racially motivated.  Oh well.  I wish more fans brought signs to games!

I would love to hear the story on those N tats.  I mean to put any teams logo on your skin is ridiculous.

My signs for tonight that you won't see:

"Nothing wagered, Nothing BAINed"
"Holy Schnikeats!"  When Schnettler, Ike and Keating go off...
"It is a TUMA"  Ole fans when TUMA spells Dwyer

PS:
So Meadowcroft zoned out on covering Bain on the last play of OT.  Not to bring up the past but what did he get busted for back in the day?  What do they say that stuff does to your attention span, dude?

Forgot how much I missed this board.

The J's stay ahead of Oshkosh for 3rd in the West Region. Thats cool.

Final Regional Rankings are out.
Good to see UST at #2 in the West, no surprise there. Even if Oshkosh had beaten Whitewater last week instead of getting tripped up, I still think the Johnnies would have remained above them in region.

Im a UST fan, no doubt, but that SJU-GAC game is infinitely more exciting to talk about. It would be nice if Collegeville was a shorter drive, because then slipping out of the massacre at the Shoe once it hit halftime and heading for the barn burning 2nd half of Johnnies-Gusties would be realistic. I have an inclination that GAC is going to do it, but I might just be jaded from the rather uninspired showing SJU put on Saturday afternoon. SJU should win, but that seems like a scenario Hanson and the Gusties relish.
