First MM references the "MIC" and now he brings out the deadly "frmo." Methinks someone started the weekend a little early...

PS - Posting from section wrestling is sweet.

Not to brag, but the 'ol Funbballer did pick UST to win by 15 the other night, remember?

Well, it's now time to step for the Championship Prediction.......drum roll, please!

...with a few free throws at the end, the JOHNNIES WIN BY 6 & claim the MIAC PLAYOFF CHAMPIONSHIP!

When you are trying to catch up when your down by 15 you force force force, thats just basketball.  On top of that the shoe is a tough place to shoot at.

sju4life - It's hardly worth commenting on your asinine POV, but I will throw a couple jabs anyway.  First of all, The Shoe is one of the most shooter friendly gyms in the MIAC.  In fact there is not a difficult gym to shoot at save maybe Moorehead and GAC with their NBA style hoops (lacking a back drop to give your depth perception some help).  Perhaps it appears to be a shooter unfriendly gym for opponents, statistically speaking anyway, because of UST's great team defense and the fact that they close out on shooters extremely well?  I am also curious as to how the opponents are getting down by 15 in the first place if their defense is so atrocious?  All they have to do is match them basket for basket and they won't be down 15!

SJU4LIFE = Not a very well informed basketball mind.

Sorry homey but I agree with Russian Mig 100%.  The Shoe is NOT a hard gym to shoot at.  If there could be difficult gyms, Mig was right saying Concordia and Gac.

funbballer, you are way off. Tommies win it all tomorrow.

QuoteFYI - I just got back from a lunch run to UST.  They have roughly 200 tickets left.

Any word on how  the St. John's ticket  sale is going?  Anyone?

300 tickets were to be released at 11:00 a.m., 200 for students and 100 for adults. SJU basketball took 91 of the 100 just prior to the start of the sale, the remaining 9 tickets and the 200 student tix were snarfed right up by those who were waiting in line. I kid you not.
Why doesn't St. Thomas build itself a gym instead of downtown libraries for the future metrosexuals? And BTW, thanks for the 300 tickets.  :P

Watch - I'm working on this script I'm trying to sell to a Hollywood producer.  Here's the plot (I got this off a late night infomercial from Snow):  Two basketball teams end up in a time machine & have a shoot out at the OK corral in Tombstone back in the 1880s.  One of the players fires up a wild shot, I think it was the guy they call "Nebraska."  His shot hits the time machine & it fast forwards everyone back to the present & they end up in a WWF tagteam wrestling brawl.  I think the story could appeal to thousands!  Here's the storyboard - whaddya think? ;D

be glad the MIAC offices forced those 300 to be set aside for the vistors :)
the 20,000 seat on campus arena will be built about the same time Collegeville's population breaks 10,000

and why does the basketball team need 91 student tickets? Do they plan to sit in the bleachers watching UST show them how the game is played? I cold see them needing a few adult tix for ma and pa, but 91 student tix??  WW should look into exposing the scalping scandal...it would be a boost to his career

Cmob - I'll be listening on the radio. I've tried both the classic and the triple stack and I'd say they're pretty even.

sju4life, I'll take TommyHoops' stats over that logic any day. Not to beat a dead horse or anything.

In a lower scoring game, no techs, no OTs, UST 68 - SJU 60

Hopefully SJU doesn't resolve to the "lets play football chant" and I really hope an informed UST student quells the "seasons over" chant before it can get going. Looking forward to the post game recaps. We'll find out who the PTPers are tomorrow night.

I'll have at least four tickets for purchase for tomorrow.  email the profile if anyone is interested.

I hate basketball.  Absolutely HATE it.  Can't stand it.

But I still hate the Tommies more.

Is this game really sold out?  1,800 seats is a friggin' joke.  UST has--what?--almost three times  as many students as SJU?  Sexton can seat over 3000, while Schoenecker less than 2000.  Why are you so damn easy to hate, St. Thomas?

Yeah, and Sexton is rarely even half filled. Most games, SJU draws around 500 at home, according to attandance stats on the MIAC site. Worry about filling your stadium before throwing stones at others.

Cmob...did you have a little beef for breakfast this morning?

Anyone heard who the officials are for tonight's game?  Hopefully, no Panning and the heresay is the Mauer's were a bit interesting the other night in Collegeville! Four techs on the Gusties?

Rumor also is that Hanson got in Smith's face after the game! Guess it's been too frustrating a year for little Markie and in looking at their roster, next year doesn't look any better!

Over at HU, is Wohler in trouble? I know that would greatly disappoint you WW! But, look at how fast they tossed out Miller after only two years in the football program.

My prediction for next year: Bethel wins it all....but only if they take both hands off their throat!
