also pretty disappointed to see what he had to say about his team just wanting the season to be over half way through the year this season...im glad they lost in the first round of state now

Cocky son of a gun.  He's likely in for a rude awakening.

Isn't any high school senior a bit cocky heading off to college? He appears to be very excited and enthusiastic about taking his game to the next level and, I think he's more confident than cocky. In talking with people that know him, he's described as a very nice young man.

Besides, what's wrong with having a little "swagger" about your game?

But, I do agree he's in for some "awakenings" and a few lessons that will come his way. After about 2 hours of his first practice and getting the crap kicked out of him....he'll be settling back to earth real fast!

Wouldn't mind seeing him in the maroon and gold though, wouldn't you?

Cmob....I've declared today as "National Triple Burger Day." Go for it, big fella!!

;)

Unfortunately, he might have as much trouble getting his touches in Kansas' up tempo game as he did in the All-Star game.  I don't know that the Jayhawks were particularly adept at feeding the post.  Their big guys like Darrell Arthur (who's a stud) can get up and down the court.  Arthur was a top national recruit last year and he came off the bench for most of the year.

I'm sure Cole is excited to be going to a premier basketball school like Kansas so best of luck to him.

Kneez, Nice post!

Story in this mornings Daily Planet about the NSIC voting this afternoon to admit 4 new schools (Duluth, Kato, SCSU & Augustana). Sound like it is a no brainer for the NSIC.

What impact, if any, will this have on future recruiting for the MIAC. If it does have an impact will it be immediate or will it take a few years to surface?

Adding those 4 schools will certainly change the dynamics of that conference.

"First of all, Northern Sun commissioner Butch Raymond, a former basketball coach at St. Cloud State, clearly wants this expansion to happen. He has no vote, but if he's not actively campaigning behind the scenes, he's not doing his job as commissioner."

Sum - if memory serves me correctly, Raymond was also the head basketball coach at Mankato State in the early to mid-1980's.

Nites, you are correct. Raymond was at MSU-Mankato from 74-84!

Rosefelt repeats as NABC West Region Player Of The Year. Hes joined on the West Region first team by Schnettler. Keating makes the regions second team. UST only school to put 3 players on All-Region teams.

All-Region came out a couple days before the Final Four.

Yes, the D3Hoops.com teams did come out prior to the Final Four. And I posted the MIAC players included on those teams soon after.

..and special mention to Rosefelt for being named Co-Player of the Year in the West Region.

In addition to Schnettler and Rosefelt being named to the first team, Tim Madson of Bethel made the 2nd team. Congrats to him, as hes one of only 2 sophomores to make the 3 teams.

However, I was referring to the NABC All-Region teams. The NABC announced the teams on March 28th via their website, 11 days after Amherst won the title. Im sure you just missed the acronym, right Pat?  ;) Its late, I'll let it slide.  ;D

Bumkneez:

No, I read just fine, thanks. It's a shame that the NABC couldn't get around to putting the teams on their Web site until March 28, since they released them prior to the Final Four.

We had copies of them in Salem, along with the NABC's All-American team.

However, the NABC Web people have never really been much for publicizing D-III.

Here, for example, is Amherst's NABC All-Region release, dated March 15:

I don't know why it wasn't mentioned elsewhere, but I did mention that the NABC hierarchy couldn't care less about Division III.

It wasn't mentioned on D3hoops.com because we don't publish their teams (and they don't publish ours. If they did, it undoubtedly would be sometime in May). :)

I don't know who dropped the ball, but this team was a done deal nearly three weeks ago. It had to be -- the three West Region All-Am picks from the NABC are lifted directly from the All-Region team.

Fair enough. I honestly thought you had just breezed over my post, and figured I was referring to this sites All Region teams (thus the 2 AM reference). No harm intended, though you seemed to have taken my gentle jab at its hardest  :o. I guess I didnt think that information listed in 2 different locations as being released within the past week would be so far off, either. But, from the sounds of it, punctuality and clarity arent strong suits for the NABC. I guess prepping for the DI awards takes a lot out of them ;D.

Based on Noah's post game comments, I don't think there will  be too much reading done today, tonight or tomorrow, etc.    ::)  ;D  Was it just me, or did I see Billy Donovan motion to Noah during his rant - "ok, that's enough, muzzle it"

Nice team win for Florida, too bad Ohio State didn't have enough horses to beat them.

Didn't he make some postgame comment last year about not doing homework too? How proud the NCAA must be.
