good news bad news,  night of TV.
Good news, start off with a little NBA draft lottery TWINS combo.
Bad news, Twolves get put in a prime postion to do something incredibly stupid, but at least it's first round.
Good news Johan is dominating
Bad news draft lottery is over
Good news, Maxim hot 100 is on
Bad News Lindsay Lohan is Maxim's number 1  Jessica Biel makes number 5.  I'm sad.
Better news Twins have a great game, Johan goes for 13 Ks in 7 innings, Morneau pops two dingers
2007/08 d3 National Pick'em Runner-up.

Sheesh, did everybody take their ball & go home?!?  I'm even forced to provide the Johnnies' Greece trip update  ;D: Johnnies Crushed by Kalamata Olives

The indignity of it all, to get beat by a bunch of olives!  Tsk, tsk, tsk.  ;)

On the local front, if it wasn't for bad luck, the T-wolves would have no luck at all.

Snow - I don't understand Lindsey Lohan either.

Cmob- check out Bulldogs in NE Mpls when you return.  Technically it's located in NE Mpls, but I consider it the near northside of downtown. It's just up the street from Surdyks' Liquors on Hennepin.  Tvs in abundance, an extensive variety of liquid refreshments on tap, & very nice burgers & dogs. While Bulldog does get close to reaching the danger zone of double digit prices for a burger, they're still less than 9.00/burger & avoid the threat of having the Miller beer delivery driver say - "step aside mon ami"

J's 2007-08 schedule is out!

Looks like a trip to exotic Green Bay is in the offing for Christmas Time!  ;D

Wonder what the deal is with another home & home with MN Morris? :(
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

I'll go out on a limb here and venture that the deal is UMM= 2 easy wins :)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

I figured as much, but couldn't they at least find a different patsy?

They must be using the Glen Mason school of non conference scheduling!

Kyle Foster signed yesterday to pitch for the St. Paul Saints.

Just so you guys know, I'm still reading the board...I just don't have anything worthwhile to say like mafia;D

With that said, a relatively funny article by the sports guy: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/070525&sportCat=mlb

(I especially liked the challenge regarding the Utah Jazz.)

Wow.  That's quite a limb you're on MM.  I'll join you. The word pathetic comes to mind right now.  How can a team that often holds a spot at the top of MIAC rankings pull this one off and walk away with any respect?  What are they teaching there?

I went to the SJU website and found this opening statement:  By living according to Saint Benedict's Rule, members of the monastic communities cultivate love of God, neighbor and self through the art of listening, worship and balanced, humane living. They challenge students to embrace these values as well.

The financial support from alums & other fans will just have to be the moral compass on this one.

Yes the J's might get a couple or easy wins vs Morris...we will have to wait and see, I imagine Morris willl be a little better this year...but take a look at that schedule again...St. Cloud State is still on there and I am sure the road trip to St. Norbert will feature two challeges...not to mention the challenges of the MIAC...

So they have two "patsy" type games against Morris...how many does the U schedule and then of course lose?  Those wins against Morris last year were very important for the regional record...the NCAA has a formula for getting to the dance, don't diss the J's because they are playing by the rules and operating within the system.

Needless to remind UST fans that SJU was 1-1 in the big dance...UST 0-1, at home with that crew...NIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Pat Coleman

It increased SJU's regional winning percentage but drastically lowered SJU's quality of wins index. Probably why SJU was sent to UWSP in the second round instead of being in a position where it could have hosted a four-team regional the opening weekend.

VOJ - I'm with the other two on this one. Morris is weak sauce and the SCSU game is essentially meaningless. Perhaps good for playoff prep, but doesn't count for regional record or SOS.

Can we check to see if Bethel is now in charge of your nonconference schedule? :o

Also, I've heard Westman and Lieser are still considering returning to play next season. SJU having guys play a 5th (or 6th) year? Unheard of! ::)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Willy, Lieser is coming back for sure! I believe Westman will not be back!

Speaking of Bethel, I would think the bull's eye would be on them as the favorites for next year's conference title.  It'll be interesting if they do their usual scheduling of the UM-Morris, Crown, & Martin Luther Colleges of the world.   ::)

Exactly.  Thanks for the clarification and Karma lesson.

Alright from the barely news/rumor department - after scanning the other boards, it would seem that the gone, but not forgotten Sofa King may be moving back west to become an assistant coach at Whitworth College in Washington.

Cord of the North, can you confirm or dispel this story? Also, what's Andrew Passanante (sp?) up to?

Willy - Speaking of coaches, have the Gusties announced their new assistant hoops coach & what's up in the recruiting news?

Local, Local?
