If we find out nothing on Wohler by June 30, I'll try to get a little info out of the head honcho at Hamline as we will be enjoying cocktails together out here in Hutch.

My hunch is that if Wohler did leave, it would be because things haven't worked out as planned. He had a nice year last year, but this past season was embarrassing and I'm not sure it will be any better next season.

Jon Leuer was a senior this year, right?

Yes, he is crossing that "Cheddar Curtain" and one of two 6' 10" Badger recruits from the class of 2007.  Bo must be lovin' life as he looks ahead.

yes that is his name...he was fired by the boys basketball program at north when he was the sophomore coach and took a job with the girls team

CMob – That's too bad.  There was speculation on the preps board this might happen.  Hopefully, like McHale, he has the decency to slap an interim coach tag on as well.

CON – I think Snow had about as good a guess as anyone for this time of year. Lay it on us.

I realize this is not a women's board but that's a tough way for Holdsclaw to go out.  Based on the article it's seems life has been rather rocky for her the past few years. I hope things can turn around for her in the future.

CON - I don't have the exact answer but the obvious thought is to hope the first four are wearing boots to the gym that day....

Maybe this a lutefisk, bread, whiskey & skinnydipping joke with horses thrown in?

those were all good answers.  my question was more like carroll's riddle in Alice in Wonderland when the mad hatter asks, "Why is a raven like a writing desk?"  Alice jumps at the question but can't puzzle out an answer.  She finally gives in and asks the hatter for relief.  The hatter states that he has no idea how to answer the riddle.

I personally preferred WeRF's suggestion that the first four wear boots.

The actual answer from personal experience is that the Scot delivers deadpan biting jokes, the tommie jumps all over the gym with a goofy grin, the ole goes about his business, and the cobber wishes he had run at least once in the past month. Oh, and all the horses hit puberty.

By the way,  I can't believe no one has commented on the Ricker situation.  An AAU coach from the magic goes down for solicitation of minor prostitution and no one notices?

Regarding the Ricker situation, with the exception of Cmob, Funbballer (a semi-regular poster from the recent past) & myself, I don't think the rest of the board regulars followed the high school AAU scene that closely.  As it is, over time I've gradually drifted away from keeping up with it as well.  This was the first time in years I didn't at least make it to the AAU state championships.

Ricker was always something of an "odd-duck"/loose cannon with his Tourette's syndrome, & I always wondered why John Sherman chose to keep him around.  Within the Magic organization, you'd notice that Ricker never coached any of the elite Magic 16 & 17 YO teams.  Still, in spite of his personal quirks I never expected to see these types of charges leveled against him, but in this day & age who knows.
