Phoops- good guess on your part & of course I googled my man Colin Keeley.  I hope you're right & it would be nice to see him develop enough to spell Conboy, or perhaps even play the two of them in tandem.  I'm already looking forward to hearing the game announcer call out – "Colin Keeley from downtown for t-h-r-e-e!!"  ;D

And who can forget Trey "Bad Hombre" Mullen?  If he can board as well as Jesse Hollander did last year, & add a consistent 3rd scoring option to replace Brad Liddell, Mac might be onto something.  But the Scots are going to have their hands full when they have to take on UW-River Falls in the season opener.  That team has got some talent.

The other Frosh on the roster, the Quammen kid from Holy Family, is also a nice player that could contribute right away.

Augsburg will also be getting the services of Hutch grad Brady Hendricks (former Piper Jesse's brother) second semester. He is transferring from Rochester TJC to the Tech. Hendricks is more of a PG type with good outside range.

UST_LBOW

UST has got a scrimmage this weekend and then another one next weekend against Loras.

Is UST on the road in Dubuque or do they host Loras next weekend?

jhoops,
Macalester scrimmages at Minn.-Mankato Sunday 10/4 and Martin Luther on the St. Kates court (MAC's home floor this year) Saturday, 10/10. I believe both are at 2.

papahoops

My bad. Had the month wrong on MAC scrimmages on my earlier post. Should have been Sunday 11/4 and Sat. 11/10.

Could my Cards have a tougher start to the season?

@Winona State
vs. Luther and Nebraska Weslyan at Nebraska Tourney
@UST
vs. SJU

I'll be back with my update after the opener but don't have much else to add.

I'm beginning to get a little dissapointed with the SID's in the MIAC.  16 days after practice starts and still most have not posted rosters yet.  What's the hold up ???

It looks like Coach Griess has another great recruiting class.  VanderStoep had serious Division II interest and can flat out shoot the ball (ala Schnettler).  The young man from Holy Family is a nice athlete.  The steal however might be Nate Alm.  He's a transfer from Minneapolis CC.  He's got great athleticism, is scrappy, and has a jump shot.  A front line with he and Solaja will provide problems for a lot of teams this year.

Happy Halloween everyone :o

Actually, 6 out of 11 schools have their rosters posted which would be more than half of the schools in the league.  ;D  But I agree with your sentiments Local, the remainder of the SIDS & coaches need to get on the ball & get their rosters posted.  Inquiring minds need to know.  ;)

I also noticed Nate Alm on the Auggie roster.  He was a highly regarded player coming out of high school but it seems he's bounced around a bit.  Hope things work out for him.  A player not listed on the Auggies roster this year is Zach Krumwiede.  As a FY last year he was Augsburg's 6th man, was in the top 5 in most statistical categories & was 2nd on the team in assists.  He was certainly on my list of top freshmen in the league.  Anybody from Riverside ave know what happened to him?

In other news, according to the Concordia–St. Paul website, both the Oles & SJU are scheduled to play exhibition games against D2 CSP the first part of November. The Oles will play this Saturday 11/3 in St. Paul at 7:00PM, & the Js will play the following Saturday 11/10 at 3:00PM.  Both games to be played at Concordia.

Interestingly, neither STO or SJU have the exhibition games listed on their season schedule.  So being a little skeptical, I called the athletic office at Concordia, & they confirmed that these exhibitions games are scheduled to take place. Concordia-St. Paul Basketball schedule.   For those of you/us who live in the cities, here's a chance to get some of our DII & DIII early season basketball needs met.    ;D

Nate is a huge add. I watched him play for several years and he is very talented. He has nice size too.

Drake,
Good detective work on the early exhibition game schedule.
Speaking of Concordia-St.Paul/D3 game action. you can early read on your new name favorite, Colin Keeley, 11/16 or 11/17. MAC plays River Falls at CSP gym on 11/16 and CSP squad on 11/17.

For those new posters here, make sure you check out some of the national boards as well, especially to gain insight about non-conference opponents.  With that said, it's time for a Pop Quiz..what has been the winningest team in the MIAC for the 2000's?
