this dude just enrolled at AUG and has eligibility left...he will be on the JV basketball team but requested that they let him wear one of the AUG wrestling singlets for his basketball uniform...he also requested that he gets to warm up with his jousting stick on the side lines instead of doing layup lines...they are unsure of what his roll will be but they are very excited about the newest addition to their team

I was like who picked Hamline as No. 1. Nice catch Nites.

Is than an American Gladiator doll? That definitely isn't Turbo, Laser or Nitro.

Hate to step on any toes here...but I think that's Malibu. Check it out if you're looking for a laugh.

Mike Adamle's career never recovered from American Gladiators, and that brief interview with Malibu is a window into the reason why. In fact, I'm amazed that ABC and ESPN hired Joe Theismann in spite of the fact that he had AG on his resume.

Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali will make perfect hosts for the new incarnation of the show.

Ut oh, I wonder if last night's game between St. Olaf & Luther College is an omen of how whacky the MIAC will be this year?!?  After sneaking out a win over the Gusties on their home court on Saturday, the Norse turn around to drop a couple of frozen stink bombs at home & loses to the Oles 53-43.  Norberg & Hunter combine for 31 points

After the win over the Norse by the Oles, I guess it would only be appropriate for the Gusties to take to the road tonight & beat Buena Vista, who drilled the Oles last Friday.  But hmm, mebbe, it would be more fun to know a certain candy man is stewing in his own sugar rage. :o ;)

The Miac will be plenty crazy this season.  There are maybe 2 teams that are ahead of the pack but from 3rd to 9th in the conference it is going to be a fight every game.  Thrasher only 3 of 8?  Only 8 shots.  what happened to Thrasher and company, it might be changed to Hipp and Co.

As a new poster i was wondering if someone could help get me started in the pick'em league.  It would be greatly appreciated.

I think a Brink-Linz matchup is terrible for the cobbers.  Brink is going to have a hay day on Linz.  Though Linz has size, Brink is a savvy defender.

I've posted stories for the Bethel-MLK and Bethel-Bethany games on www.minnesotapreps.com. The photo galleries have 150 plus shots and there is some postgame audio too.

MPro- just head on over to the Pickem board (found under Men's West Basketball region tab -  just like MIAC Conversations) & let Sumander know you want to play.  League play starts on the 28th of November, runs until the middle of December, breaks for the holidays. & then resumes around the first of January.   As you may or may not know, league games are typically played on Monday, Wednesdays & Saturdays.

The key is to remember to get your picks in on time.  This is usually anytime before the official game tipoff time.  If you edit your post or change your picks,  make sure you do it before the games are officially scheduled to begin.

Also, it seems every year some posters starts out the year with the best of intentions to play Pickem throughout the year & then forget to make their picks one day, & end up getting no points.  Then they think to themselves  - "aww, what the heck" & drop out.  Don't let that happen to you.  If you forget, keep playing.   I heard the new coordinator will kick some butt if someone drops out halfway through the season.   :o ;D

Watch  - or anyone else that may have seen the latest league wunderkind  - Chris Schwartz.  Is Schwartz left-handed, ambidextrous, or just knows how to make an opposite hand lay-up in traffic?  I noticed when I was looking at some of the game photos on the Johnnie website he was shooting a layup with his left.

It would be nice to see a sweet lefty jumper in the league.  Plus the first couple of times around the league, it's a nice element of surprise to pull out of your bag of tricks.

Since I probably won't get a chance to see him play until after the first of the year, inquiring minds need to know.  ;)

I'm playing with a few of your Carleton boys in a league.  Scotty and Beste.  Beste is the answer to the question, "What has happened to the midrange jumper?"

UST will be better than people expect.  They looked really good in Ohio especially on defense.  If they play that hard in the MIAC they are going to beat a lot of teams. They took a good Wooster team to the end and actually should have won that game.  They were in control the whole game until the last 4 minutes when I'm pretty sure Wooster made 6 or 7 consective shots to close the game.

They play River Falls tonight.  Should be a good matchup.  Not sure how good River Falls is this year

From what I have seen in the last two years St. Thomas will have no problems being in the hunt. Its the same as Cretin at the high school level, you almost always have 7 on the court.

Bethel's defense lets them down as they lose 90-100 agains morris.  If they don't pick it up on that end of the floor they won't finish anywhere above 3rd in the miac

Tommies play 2 good halves, Falcons one good, one lousy half in 79-67 Tommie win. Score 35-35 at half. Baker, Viau, Nickolai score 14, 12, 11 respectively. Tommies shot 63 per cent both halves.
