Pipers Go Undefeated In Conference Play!!!!  They end up winning by three when Olaf missed a game tying 3 at the buzzer.  It is a start.......Hamline's D looked good at times and then at others Olaf would have their way with the pipes.  Hipp got into some foul trouble but had a few big blocks down the stretch.  Fy Clute had a good game hitting the game clinching 3 from the top of the key.  Good win for a Hamline club desperate for one.  Good all around team performance.

I told you Brink would have his way, SJU, Carlton, Hamline win, what about the other games.

Mac outlasted the Gusties and UST held off a tough SMU, leading by 9 with 1:38 left was the last I heard

the way things have gone so far this year I wouldn't be surprised if the MIAC #1 goes 15-5

Wow!! I've been misreading the posts the last couple of minutes.  Mac beat the Gusties at St. Peter?!?

Ok Willy, you owe us, don't shirk your responsibilities, & step up & let's hear the post mortem.   ;D :D

according to the box score Brady Brink had 31 pts and 16 boards!!! oh by the way he also shot 13-16 from the floor

Yes, but did you know that is slightly under his season FG percentage of .815.  That's the amazing stat - that and the fact that he is now averaging 15 boards a game.  Quite a start!   :P

Burtzel looks like a horse on the boards.  He was averaging 12.5 per game coming in and he picked up 13 tonight.  Good win for the Johnnies.

We'll let CSN award Bethel's Tim Madson the POY.  At this point we have to give MAN of the YEAR AWARD to Brady Brink.  Those are some amazing numbers!!!

UST slides by SMU 72-65...the Tommies get 15 from Baker and 14 from Scott and Nicolai...Will Wright scores a game-high 21 and DC shoots 6-7 including 2-2 from deep for 16...difference in the game looks to be the throws...SMU was only 8-12 and UST was 17-23

Wittwer had 17 and 9

Abe had 33 and TCon had 34, including 4-4 from downtown...if Mac shoots like this lookout MIAC

Great opening night in the MIAC.  Glad to see the Pipers kept the home winning streak against the Oles alive.  Sounds like the young guns came up big for Coach Whitmore.

Carleton showed a lot tonight being able to battle back against the Auggies.

What happened to that vaunted "Gustie Defense?"  They give up 82 points, 67 of which come from two players.  Ouch!!  Abe and Mr. Conboy combine to go 23-34 from the floor and 14-17 from the line.  Tough night in St. Peter.

Oh and Drake, I went 4-1 in Pick'em as well!  ;D

don't forget the 7-11 from 3 for Abe and TCon as well...

From the Mac website -

November 28, 2007 – Macalester's MIAC season got off to a winning start as the Scots battled back from a 12-point deficit midway through the second half to beat Gustavus Adolphus 82-78 in St. Peter.

Tom Conboy (Sr., Chanhassen, Minn / Minnetonka) and Abe Woldeslassie (Sr., Richfield, Minn. / St. Thomas Academy) each pumped in over 30 points and accounted for 67 of their team's 82 points to lead the way. (the two of them accounted for almost 82% of their total points -WHAT?!?)

Behind 68-56, the Scots out-scored their hosts 26-10 over the final 8:43. Macalester shot a red-hot 57% from the field, inclduding 47% on three-pointers (8-for-17), while Conboy and Woldeslassie combined to make 68% of their shots (23-for-34).
 :o :o 8) ;D

I just want to state my claim I was the first one to predict Brady Brink as MIAC MVP.   With the absence of FOGT there is great room for him to maximise his rebounds plus the fact his two games he is 9-11 shooting and 13-16 shooting.  Not to forget about his 16-22 shooting against concordia st paul in scrimmage!!!
