what was that prediction on Bannick again....
1  Steve Banick........ *  0-4    0-2    0-0    0  4  4   3   0 11  1  0  4  32
ouch, not a good line for a projected 20, 6 and 9.

Box score for Hamline wasn't quite accurate, i was at the game and did not see Brake enter the game at all.  Clute couldn't hit the broad side of a barn for pretty much the whole game until he hit a big 3 at the end, but 4 for 14!!!!!!  and then 13 of 14 free throws, that means he had to have taken at least 21 shots in the game.  That is an aweful lot of jacks in a game, and i would agree that he hasn't seen a shot he disliked.  Kujolic only Playing a few minutes after starting was kind of mind boggling but Ham pulled out he Win, and all that matters is they are tied for first in the conference, ready to take down Bethel.

all 5 starters for the Johnnies played at least 30 minutes (40, 37, 37, 35 and 30)...startin to look a lot like previous Tommie teams??

CORD bench out scores J's 33-0!

Smith's 5 ponies are going to get pretty tired unless he expands his bench. The two freshies Schwartz and Burtzel may be able to play 30 a night right now but when the MIAC schedule hits full stride 5 guys just aren't going to be able to do it!!  Despite that it was a good win for the J's

Watchman...point taken, but Rome was not built in a day, and fine wine takes time... by the way superfan...I think that people are not giving the Cobbs their due...Linz in the first half was making his teammates better and getting them involved, he tried to take over late, but was not able to get his shot to fall...CC has some good posts and they made some nice adjustments at the half, if they can play their game:  slow down, methodical, execute and defend well, they can be in alot of games, however in a frenetic pace they turn it over like I drink Diet Pepsi, in other words, all day every day.
.

All great points on CORD VOJ plus the 10 games they will play at home versus team's with a serious case of bus lag!! :D

Zorro goes over the 1000 point mark just 2 games after Drake surpasses the milestone.

I think we can attribute this to the fact that "Zorro" shoots ALOT!

Last year Johnson shot 41.4% on 394 FG attempts while Drake shot 46.4% on just 235 attempts. Its alot easier to get there when you shoot the ball 159 more a year.  ;D

Banick did have 4 boards, 4 steals and 11 assists and only 1 turnover

that's pretty good...don't you think?

through 5 games this year Banick has 28 assists and only 9 turnovers...that's a 3.1 A/TO ratio

But a loss to the PP predicted last place team.

everybody's been talkin about Clute's performance for the Pipes, but what about Thrasher going for 20 and 6 with 2 steals in 27 minutes...don't know if he was guarding Hunter on the defensive end, but he was 8-16 with a couple 3's...Clute may have done the damage in the 2nd half, but Thrasher's 13 points in the 1st, including a late 3 gave them a 48-40 cushion going into the locker room...

I think any coach would take that line...Banick is obviously a pass first PG...keeps everybody happy...

I think we will have some intriguing PG matchups this year...I like the player Nick Johnson has become and think it will be some intersting matchups between he and Banick and Abe...

Man, dead board.  No post since 8:30 this morning?? What -  is everyone laying in provisions for the frst major snowstorm of the season, working or going to class?  ::)
Me, I had to work, & now I have to get my provisions.  Good luck, good driving wherever that may be.

Drake, What's the game of the weekend going to be for you? Not too many options for you in terms of MIAC games, @ Aug or @ Bet.
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

This is a 24 hour (actually a 22.5 hr) reminder that I still do not have picks from: Drake, Watch,Lostprophet,TommieH4L & A-Snow.

Tip off is 3:00 tomorrow. ;)

Sum - although I live in the city, it's not like I don't ever venture outside the 7-county metro area.   ;)  I've already been to Northfield, River Falls & Stout this year.   If the weather holds, I was thinking of making the drive to N-field see the Carlies & Cobbs, but the weather doesn't sound too promising for tomorrow afternoon.

BTW - I didn't check, but I'd post your reminder on the main board if you want Gacbacker to change the order of his picks to fit the licensed & approved Sumander data collection process.  ;)

I know this was a few days ago but I've been busy staying on top of the Royals Football team. Anyway Reck had a mild concussion most likely he'll play tomorrow against the Pipers and what is normally a pretty loud place should be dead silent as all the students, myself included, will be down watching the football game. Bethel has got to pick it up. I was at the game against Crown and the defenses was not great but it was not horrible. Crown made some plays and hit some J's in people's eyes. I'm still baffled why Moberg isn't dominating down low. Crown tallest guy most of the game was 6-4 at the tallest. In order to be at the top of the conference they'll need him to play better and they'll have to implement some sort of rotation as right now it's very inconsistent and Westlund is really just trying to see what he's got to work with, being that he only has four guys back. I expect to see a lot of parity in the MIAC and I'm wondering if someone ever is going to slow down Brady Brink?

Playing the comparative scores game - I checked on the UMAC board & UM-Morris only lost by 2, on the road to Jamestown College 99-96.  Jamestown beat Northwestern 87-75 at Northwestern a few weeks ago.  And, NW was also picked to easily win their conference title this season.   So maybe UM-Morris isn't as mediocre as everyone thinks they are, & the Bethel defense not as bad as everyone seems to think it is.   ::) :D

On 2nd thought, I'll have to think about that for awhile.  Bethel still almost lost to Bethany Lutheran, nearly lost to Crown (albeit without the services of Jeff Reck) & lost to UM-Morris.  ;)

BETHEL34

I know I haven't posted in awhile as I have been out of town...but there are so many new pieces this year to Bethel's team that it is going to take some time to get the defense and the offense running on all 8 Cylinders.  Moberg has been dealing with a lot off the court lately and it has been affecting his on the court focus.  I think now that the MIAC season will be starting, Moberg will start focusing more and he will start to become the dominate post we all know he can be.  Right now I would say it has been more on Moberg not demanding the ball enough and not working hard enough to get the touches and the shots he needs to get each game.  I wouldn't blame it all on coaching.  Moberg has some growing up to do and I believe he will do it.

I know this is old news...but holy crap Brink!?!?   :o  Can he possibly maintain this sort of dominance???  If he can continue this type of production or 75% of this type of production and the J's can get Fogt back by Jan...I could see St Johns taking the MIAC Crown this year.

Again old news, but congrats to an amazing win to the Tommies...they have to feel that they can beat anybody now on any given day.  Watch out for them as well to make a run for the MIAC crown.  I would have to agree that the MIAC winner will be around the 16-4 or even 15-5 this year.  It is going to be a crazy ride!

I am looking forward to seeing my first MIAC play tomorrow as I will be attending the BU/Hamline game.  Safe driving to everybody traveling for a MIAC game tomorrow!
