he will completely dominate the chargers because he is boss

Thanks for the good vibes, DP, it is nice to talk some hoops again, even if I have no idea what is going on outside of my backyard.

Maybe this will be another great rivalry matchup between GAC/UST. I must say that UST is the team I love to hate the most.

More thoughts from Saturday:

Gusties went about nine deep, which is nice, even if it's hard to tell the differences between them all. Witwer looked really good. Kaus looked out of his mind, judging from his mediocre point total prior to this game, and Doble played solid (better in the second half). Can anybody tell me more about this big kid the Gusties are starting at center? He's from Waseca and had some decent post moves down low, but I'm sure needs improvement on his rebounding. UST absolutely killed GAC there.

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

And of course, now I'm hooked again.

KV and regular Shocker might be back doing normal things. However, had the chance to speak with them both at Saturday's game, and the insight is still sharp. Here's hoping to more people on the board who think like me.  ;)

Fellas...the first swing is over after next Mondays games...any chance we could see a post as to the results of the predictions for this year?  I think it would be mighty interesting...

Do we need to come up with a first half all-miac team?  Just curious

Good to have you back, BS. You must have received a get-out-of-jail free card from your lady to hit the game. Was that a late Christmas present? :)

I still haven't seen the big kid who Drake has a man-crush on play, but my source in the know says he's *extremely* surprised at how well he's played. Paulson rarely practiced a year ago because of constant owwies — which sounds vaguely familiar, for some weird reason — and there was some speculation among outsiders that he wouldn't even go out for the team this year. Apparently he had a good offseason and/or is sucking it up in practice these days :)

I'm excited to see him and the Gusties play in the very near future.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

WW- Yeah, I haven't really been to too many MIAC games throughout the years, but maybe that will pick up. The class load for this year involves a lot of writing this year, not traveling for class. You should come up to the Cities and catch a few games. It's really been too long since you and I have spoken.

Paulson has some good size, and GAC always needs a solid post to succeed, but there might still be some kinks to work out. He didn't play the last 12 minutes of the game, if that says anything.

Looked on the MIAC page tonight, and found out that GAC had the best rebounding stats in the conference. I was very surprised by this after seeing the game Saturday. I don't think GAC had an offensive rebound all game. It looked frustrating.

To quote Cmob-  "did i hear man crush?" hunh??

Willy – the board posting activity-- info line was drying up.  I had to say something to elicit some comments out of the semi-faithful Gustie camp.  I tried the usual mildly critical comments to no avail i.e. where's Chris Haas? why did the former D2 player quit? why was a D1 recruit (Paulson) riding the pine his freshmen year at a D3 school, etc. so I had no other recourse than to attempt the flattery approach.

But if this makes you feel any better, both Paulson & fellow Gustie, Dan Schmidtknecht has earned first team spots on the All-MIAC Donald Trump Hair Team.  If you'd ever get out to see them play you'd know exactly what I mean.  ::)  ;)

saint mary's Cardinals are the biggest disappointment of the the year!!! easpecially considering the talent that they have they should be in the top 4 right now

Scots – I think you're being a little too harsh on yourself.  And... I do think a top 4 in talent is a bit of a stretch.

I can't speak for anyone else, but outside of SMU & their fans, I don't think any of the rest of the MIAC fans were expecting much this year.  They need a little more firepower, & some inside presence other than skinny as a rail 6-5 Dan Cormier, & the beefy but decidedly undersized Knights twins.

First it was smileys, & now every post seems to contain man crush connotations.

Must be time for some man-law  ;D
