good win for the knights!

PTPer you should put a mask on a geese and take a picture of it

i went to the UMD SCSU game yesterday...3 bombs were flyin all over the place...jodan nuness had 7 in the first half

what are the top 2 games in the MIAC this week?

c-mob - You know I can't get close to Geese since the incident. I would say that the GTWs are GAC@BET for Wednesday and UST@CAR on Saturday. The St. Thomas/Hamline rematch should be decent as well, but I doubt the Rowdy Roddy Pipers can get as close as they did last time.

For all concerned about Trewick and the coaching position at Gustavus:

I would like it to be known that my intentions in my last post was not to place concentration on Trewick and any jobs that he may have considered in the past. I was clearly expressing my dismay and disgust for the Saint Mary's basketball program in general. I did point out that it WAS a rumor that I had heard. And after I had posted it, I had received information from the source stating that it was merely Trewick insinuating to the head coach that he might apply for the position is all.

Also, I only post on subjects that I am well informed on. I take offense to someone who calls me an "uniformed hack". I believe the statistics and former players that I had given in my last post makes me a bit of a credible source on the subject.

PTPer - I would have to disagree, i think the pipes actually will play St. Thomas pretty well.  I would expect Thrasher to lead the way for the pipes.  They are getting down to crunch time and need to pull off some wins if they expect to get into the playoffs.  Last game St. Thomas held Clute in check and Hamline was still very much in the game.  I can see Hipp repeating his performance and playing well against the shorter posts.  But then again who knows what Whitmore will do with his rotation.  Everything is a guess with this team.

The SMU situation is bad.  I have had selfish coaches before and no one enjoys playing for them.  Throwing your players under the bus is unforgivable.

Its a crappy situation...too bad Ryan has to miss games in his senior season because of a small technical screw up...so now the cat is out of the bag and everyone has an idea of what is going on...Ryan is a great kid, he deserves better than this...

Thanks for the heads-up -- I don't get to Frank's blog as often during basketball season.

Who said Trewick was a selfish coach?? And who did he throw under the bus? Did I miss something here?

Careful now. Pat bans people for posting rumors that can't be backed up with printed sources, even if you can prove your point with court documents. Just trust me :)

I never specifically called you a hack, but I can't promise it won't happen in the future. I think your stance as a friend of all the quitters has been established, making your views a little...less than reliable.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I never said the Pipers wouldn't make it a game, I even nominated it for the 2nd best GTN. However, St. Thomas is playing very well right now and I don't think a playoff sense of urgency is going to make a big difference.

I don't think Trewick is selfish...I think he is a young head coach still trying to find his type of players and get them to stick around in his program

None of us except the guys involved in the program know how bad it is, or was this year in the SMU program...obviously its the worst its been for quite some time on the hardwood...now they don't have any height and even though they will have many home games to close out the season posting another win might be tough to do

Wow, 10 pages of unread material upon returning from my four-day hiatus. Missed a pick'em and the Pipes drop two games to teams in the race for the final two spots.

What a weird season. Outside the top teams, the rest (minus SMU) have put together some good and bad stretches. HAM is bound for a good streak.....hopefully.

From a long time ago: Willy, yes, that is OAS; Local, really the big difference at HAM is there hasn't been the standout performances. Clute was on fire in the beginning and all of a sudden now, he's playing more like a freshman. Thrasher can look very good, and than just be invincible the next moment. The Pipers need one guy to step up this week (maybe even 2).

I think you meant invisible...and you would be right...Did Clute hit the wall this year?  Obviously the injury hurt him and he still might not be over it...

Prophet - you're right.  The Piper roster seems to be in a big state of flux.  Several weeks ago I thought newcomer Pierre Harris was going to replace Brandon Hayes at PG, but apparently after a sub par performance or two, he's back to fewer minutes.  Now the latest Piper post rotation seems to favor Tanner Anderson as he logged most of the minutes in the post for Hamline in their game against Bethel.  Hipp had 9 minutes, Gusaas 8 minutes, & Anderson played 26 minutes.  Seems like a very short leash over at Snelling & Hamline.  ???

Dan Cormier & Mike Rohr.

And are we to interpret your other post that Mr. Lieser's internship credits were not  positively resolved & he'll not be on the "ship?"  ??? ;D

Yeah, Local that is old news on the latest roster additons for Augsburg. You need to stop by more often.

Drake- There are sources alot closer to the team than myself but from what I understood Lieser was facing a long-term absence from the team. Although hopefully I am wrong and he is back on the court fast because the J's will need him if they want to make a strong push at the end of the year.

For what it's worth, historically UST has struggled to win @ Hamline.  Seems the Pipes always bring the rain when the Tommies come to visit.

UST will have to play top notch to secure the W.

Huge Game at the Robertson Center on Wednesday.  Not just because it is between two playoff caliber teams...but because I think this game will tell a lot about Bethel...and whether or not they are really determined to do some damage this year!

Gustavus always plays tough in the R.C. and Coach Hanson will have them ready...I hope the Royals will be as well!!!

I hope I can be in attendacne!

It is good to be a Royal.
